I'm sure most my friends would be shocked at how i gave them only a 4.0 rating, considering i eat there religiously. Ive been eating at this location for years, i've been a hockey sushi fanatic as long as i can remember. Ive seen employees come and go and I've always stuck by them... Recently their service has been awful, not saying it was any good before but it tends to get frustrating when the place you LOVE to eat is uncomfortable. There food is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! People say I'm biased but I've been to more sushi restaurant than anyone i know. Ill be realistic they can give me the worst service and i would still come back day after day.
Service may not be the friendliest but the sushi makes up for it. Hands down the best sushi in the city. I know people who travel from downtown to hockey sushi every week. Always fresh. Always busy, so you know the fish doesn't sit untouched for too long.
Mixed feelings. Like the other comments the place is good but can be bad. But majority of the time it's better than it is bad (in my experiences at least). When bad the sushi doesn't taste fresh and the service is lousy. When good it's the complete opposite. Kind of a gamble to go here but I've gone back multiple times
Sometimes good, sometimes bad.. Out of all the sushi restaurants i went to i say this one is the best. On par with Aji Sai IMO. I went here about 25 times and 6 of them were bad services. Other than that the food has always been great. Love the spicy salmon rolls !
Sushi-me up!. The food @ Hockey Sushi is really good. I enjoy their maki rolls and tempura. The food is delicious and the price is great (about $12 for a buffet lunch), although I am not a fan of the atmosphere. It is very crowded in the restaurant, no matter what day of the week or time of day I visit. Still, I enjoy the efficiency of the cooks that are behind the sushi counter. They recently introduced a new dish on their menu - the black pepper chicken, I think it was; only, it didn't taste at all like black pepper. I also find their fried rice very salty, probably because of the soy sauce. But otherwise, their food is really good, and nothing has stopped me from going back over and over again. If you are planning to go, especially with 4+ people, make sure you call ahead of time and reserve a spot because like I said, they're always busy!
Off and On Sushi. Sometimes this places serves up some of the best all you can eat sushi, sometimes it doesn't. This place can be hit or miss but even when it isn't so great it is better than a lot of other places. The fish is fresh, there are a lot of options, and the eggplant is amazing. Service is generally pretty slow and they forget 1/4 of your order. Give it a try, you may be lucky and get them on one of their better days, I usually do.

The food is comparable to many all-you-can eat (AYCE) sushi restaurants in the Toronto but they have many delicious speciality items like salmon roe sushi, dim sum and large portions of squid sashimi. Any maki rolls with the rice paper rolls is a must! The food is consistent and the fish always taste fresh. The price is fantastic for the food that you get. On the weekends and holidays, the price is $20.99 (before tax) for an adult which is fabulous and on the lower end of AYCE joints. On the website, you can print out a 10% off coupon when paying with cash (click here for the coupon) which makes the dinner an even better value.
As for the service, the restaurant can work on the consistency. I have gone when the servers were attentive and other times the opposite.

I am a big fan of Hockey Sushi that I almost didn’t want to share this hidden gem in Thornhill, not so hidden to the locals like us. With 5 locations across Ontario including Ottawa and Guelph, I am sure they have a large following of customers. Happy eating!
