Great place for a lunch. The general clientele were a little more upscale than our group of bachelor party members but the staff are pros and handled everything really well. (We also weren't a roudy bunch at that point) Great beer selection, quick service and a beautiful atmosphere. The inside of the restaurant is really nice but no one was using it because it was a beautiful day. My only complaint or comment would be to please add some more shade/patio umbrellas. We asked to move out of the sun to a shady spot and were not allowed by the servers because it was busy, and it resulted in a really painful sunburn. Really nice beer garden. Out back too!

Food was excellent. We sat inside, as we were touring with old cars that didn't have air-conditioning. I don't think they were prepared for a group of 8 to just drop in and sit inside. They were more geared to serve on the patio (which looked beautiful). Loved the atmosphere and the menu. Enough variety without being overwhelming.

A bit pricier than your typical pub for the portion size (reason for 4star), but excellent butter chicken dish! Try it!! Lots of sitting areas outside in the sun on their veranda, a shadier garden area overlooking the water or indoor seating in various tastefully decorated dining areas. Also, Fast kitchen staff - it wasn’t very long before the food was at our table on Friday evening dinner hour service.

Great food in the heart of Thornbury by the Mill Pond tributary to Georgian Bay, which you can see it the front window. Good kids menu and pub style food. The fries are delicious and come with most meals. Try the Classic Burger you won't be disappointed.

Was on a road trip to the area and was craving fish & chips. OnStar gave me Winifred's English Pub as an option and it was the closest of the three. Great choice! Stunning building inside and out that keeps it's historic charm while offering sports (muted) on a TV and great music playing, not too loudly, throughout. Very comfortable vibe, captures the pub feeling with a hint of fine dining. Beautiful patio area, several dining areas and a seated bar area too. Upstairs to the right the ladies will enjoy the facilities that offer views from the windows and well appointed facilities. For the gentlemen, well, no windows but just as clean with everything you expect. When I arrived, there was ample parking with a few vehicles already there. Inside, I was warmly greeted by a very pleasant person. As I was getting the food to go, he offered me a seat at the bar while I waited. Even though he was alone, besides the chef, and fairly busy he not only kept checking in with me but made time to chat with me and other guests to answer questions, and make sure their immediate needs were fulfilled in a pleasant, jovial manner. The fish & chips were really good! The cod was done to perfection. Love the dash of herbs on the fries, and enjoyed the homemade tartar sauce, coleslaw, and gravy too. Thank you to the Chef for loving what you do...I can taste it! Check out the video in the photo section on how the fish & chips are made and plated, it's not my video but explains why the food is so good. The to-go box they used was super. Kept the food quite warm, (took me about 15-20 mins to get to where I ate), without getting soggy. Limited menu but it's prepared with heart and skill. Kids menu options available.

Closest to a typical English Pub I’ve come across in this area. Small rooms and pub but large deck and beer garden. Had the fish ‘n chips ( no brainer) which was excellent. This would be my local no doubt!! Our waitress, Shelby , made the lunch more enjoyable with her polite banter and very cordial attention to our malt beverage needs. On our way back from Tobermory , we will try the delicious looking burgers .
