The establishment has street appeal with patio and the building itself. Now, the 855 scotches are interesting. If they’ve missed any, they are very obscure. We had draft and wine with an excellent cheese plate and an order of sweet potato fries that were very tasty. The staff as a whole were great and our server was the best. She even accommodated a couple who just wanted to look over the Scotch menu, even offering water as they read.
The Shepard’s pie at the next table looked awesome. Stop in, you’ll love it.
We called to reserve a table for inside an hour before we wanted to eat. They were booked for inside but we could eat outside. We arrived and they had magically switched us so I dined bug free. Spectacular, from the server to the service and Chef Suzette is a Goddess. You Gotta Eat here, lamb shank, fish and chips, burger and pasta were spot on.
A must try. Every time I venture north I stop in absolutely love this pub! Atmosphere is great service is wonderful! The muscles are amazing! It is most definitely a place you should check out if your in the area!
Go for the whiskey.... ...stay for the scotch ;) What a lovely little spot full of some of the best scotch you can find. Food is tasty too, some authentic items like Haggis (didn't brave it) but the fish and chips are fantastic. Will be back again soon.
I love the place. A nice place for a real touch of Scottish fare. They have specials on most nights. I will not say anything about the lamb shanks on special Friday nights for fear they will run out before I get there. If you are lucky there might be bread pudding. Quite different, and very good. This is a place you know what they have, and they stay to what works. They have entertainment some days so watch for it. Whiskey (they have over 550 types in stock)
Generous portions including the kids meals.
Came for the TV famous shepherds pie - enjoyed it, vegetables on the side were very flavorful, mash potatoes did however overpower the meat.
Salad - perfect
Fish & Chips. You could taste the very fresh fish too bad the breading crust was far too oily and crunchy. Lots of fries on the plate with coleslaw.
Saw this place in You Gotta Eat Here. We ordered the Mussels and Frites. Shaved Beef and Bleu, and the Shepherds pie. Cute little outdoor patio. We got the curry mussels and i liked the flavours. The fries were something else, so crispy on the outside and very soft on the inside. I couldve eaten more of this. Great friendly staff and prompt service even though they were busy.
We had a fantastic anniversary dinner at the Dam Pub while visiting the Blue Mountains, we picked the Sunday dinner just so we could try the Prime Rib especially, but the deep fried haggis was also amazing and the chocolate slice of heaven for dessert fit right in even though we were so full already!!! Will be back if we are in the area again.
An absolute must visit for all lovers of scotch, bourbon and whiskey. The newly renovated space in Meaford is gorgeous, with the amply spaced L-shaped bar being the focal point of the room. A very inviting and comfortable atmosphere with the rich wood tones and warm lighting. I had the bangers and mash and was absolutely delighted with my choice (and the price). Another new treasure of a restaurant in Meaford.
I was well aware of this place from when they were in Thornbury, and was thrilled when they moved to Meaford. My husband and I chose to celebrate our anniversary here at the new location. We were not disappointed. The food is excellent - you really can't go wrong with anything from the menu. I was so excited to have a Scotch egg - not something I've had since I was a child living in the UK. Everything I put in my mouth was prepared with care and exquisite. They did a beautiful job with the decor - no wonder it took so long for the Meaford location to open! It's absolutely worth it.
Of course, I can't complete a review of this place without mentioning the whiskey. I, personally, do not drink, but regardless this place is a Scottish themed whiskey bar and whiskey they have. Multitudes. Over a thousand. They will happily give you a book with the list and prices and it's fun to go through even if you're not that interested in trying any. If you are a connoisseur of whiskey, however, this place is the place to be. If you're a lover of great food, it's still the place to be.
We can't say enough about the food and people that run The Dam Pub in Meaford. Awesome!
But we are of two minds about writing this review because they will become so busy that we will have a hard time getting a table. Lol. 😁
You'll love it.
A lovely new bar and restaurant in Meaford, ON - we had an excellent lunch in a warm and homey atmosphere with good service. The more than 1000 different whiskeys is really something to see!
I hope they succeed and become part of what makes Meaford so enjoyable!
SO HAPPY The Dam Pub has relocated to Meaford. We have thoroughly enjoyed every meal, especially the curried mussels which I have cravings for!
What an excellent addition to Meaford's other restaurants.
Can't wait for our next visit.
