Gorgeous even in winter. Such a wonderful, beautiful, picture worthy drive.
Our favorite stop along the Alaska Highway.
It's dry camping and no cell service so its not everyones cup of tea, but we just love the place.
We are even able to catch some TV off of the Dish 119° from some of the spots.
We usually stop for a week going north and south and then head over to Liard hot springs once or twice for a dip in the spring.
Usually very quiet, but sometimes groups of fisherman can arrive for a party weekend and then it might not be so quiet for a couple of days.
Once in a while a turboprop takes off from the Northern Rockies lodge down the lake adding to the excitement.
I keep saying that we'll go down to the Lodge for lunch or dinner one day, but we keep falling into Muncho Time and find it hard to leave.
I also like to take a dip in the lake. Super cold all season and ice sometimes floating by in the spring, so be prepared for a chill.
It’s a long drive north but a great deep cold lake. The provincial park is not serviced but does have outhouses and a water pump available. The fishing’s pretty good and the campground is regularly checked by staff. When we needed a 2x4, staff were kind enough to pop one over for us. Usually pretty quiet and not overly busy. I believe this campground cannot be booked online-last time I checked anyways.
