Great place. Must visit. Been a few times and tried different sushi dishes. End up craving after a couple days. And very friendly staff. Even the chef went the extra mile for us.
The service is really friendly. I used to be here daily due to me being able to afford buying food. Not because of the restaurants prices but if I could afford to go to this place very often. I would. The sushi quality is above decent. Sometimes they do great and sometimes not as much to make up for the food. But they are a great restaurant and I love going here. The reason why I think the sushi is great here is because I've tasted the quality, the hardwork, the taste and texture. You're free to have an opinion on me but this is my opinion. I woild go to this restaurant often if I can.
I love sushi and this place is probably one of the best places to get it in the area! Very good quality and delicious, and about average prices.
My family and I get food from here at least once a month and we're never disappointed. The various combos are especially well worth the price!

Dinner was great at Aomori tonight! First time here after hearing so much about it.
We had the unagi roll, salmon Maki roll, rainbow roll, seaweed salad, chicken Don and they gave us a couple cute little spring rolls on the house! Everything was delicious! Fresh raw fish, great portions! We were seated in a cute little booth! There are curtains if more privacy is needed. Beautiful cherry blossom paintings on the wall. Service was awesome! Hot tea was constantly refilled without asking which was perfect for today's cold weather! Pricing are super reasonable! Dinner came up to $32 for 2! Only one little complaint, the lighting was weird?.... Hence the pictures turned out the way they did. The whole restaurant had the dim red light going on and to be honest it gave us some sort of headache. I prefer proper lighting to see the menu and my food and of course to take good food pictures! But I think that's the look they were going for. However we will definitely be back again if we're around the area.
There are a couple sushi places in Newton but this one is the best one so far. The rice isn't mushy at all, unlike some places. The lady who works there is also very kind to my friends and I. Aomori is my go-to place whenever I want sushi afterschool 👌
This place is always delicious and has really great service. I've been coming here for a while now since they've opened and the food is always consistent. Definitely one of my go to places for sushi.
Love this place. Hidden gem in Surrey. Hands down best place for sushi in town. The interior might be a little shabby but if you don't care much for ambience then this the right place. I would recommend softening the pop music playing. Otherwise I do recommend.
AWESOME SUSHI. This little sushi place in Newton plaza is amazing. Husband and wife open not even a year yet and it's getting busier and popular. The portion size is huge. I'm always full when I leave there. I never feel ripped off. I work a block away and almost go there everyday for lunch. The food is really good and the bento box is inexpensive. My favorite sushi place and they have a reward program. Free food yay!
Aomori sushi. Cute little sushi place nearby newton wave pool. cute as in having little nemo stickers on their walls lol-which i normally wouldn't like. for example, the last thing i wanna see before stepping into a fried chicken place is a big picture of a rooster. but this was charming for some reason.
food was overall pretty good. sushi was good and tempura was light and crispy. tornado potato appetizer was yummy as well. only thing i didn't like was the beef that came with the fried yakisoba noodles. the marinade for the beef didn't go well with the yakisoba sauce imo
small, family run feel with attentive service and wallet friendly pricing to boot.
I have been going to this place for many years, it was recommended by my friend and I have never regretted it. Staff are super polite and friendly, food is served in a timely order and the food is so delicious, and very reasonably priced, I love supporting local family owned restaurants.
I was taken here by a friend for my birthday and even though it is Korean owned the sushi is very well prepared and the food excellent. They seem to specialize in maki rolls but their sashimi and nigiri Sushi is excellent and very well prepared, the staff are very friendly and very focused on customer service and quality everything was excellent the only problem is that we ordered way too much (even though they did warn us!) regardless nothing like a next day Sushi snack! The place is small but comfortable and cozy a great place to bring you family or even a first date you won’t be disappointed!

Such wonderful people here with great prices on really yummy sushi. I normally get their assorted sushi and dynamite roll.
