Amazing Chinese food! Spring rolls are to die for �
We have ordered from them lots. We have tried appetizers,pizza,Chinese. We like everything we have tried so far. It's also awesome that they are open late 7 days a week!

After a bad experience two weeks ago I decided to go hunting for good Chinese food again. I came across an add for Chef Express and was surprised to see that they were open until 6:00 am. It was Friday, 11:30 at night and choices are limited for any kind of food in Saskatoon so I placed an order for pickup. I arrived at their shop about 20 minutes later.
I ordered Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls, Deep Fried Shrimp, Special Shanghai Noodle and my favorite dish (if its done right) Spicy Ginger Beef. I knew my wife would be shocked at the near total absence of vegetables but I was looking for hard-core, satisfying yummy after a really tough week.
I was really surprised…everything was fresh, hot and delicious. The Special Shanghai Noodle had the perfect amount of cooking and a wonderful black bean sauce. The shrimp were light and had some nice snap when you bit into them. The Ginger Beef was really, really good. Lots of beef and ginger flavor, plenty of heat (I asked for really spicy and got it). The key to Ginger Beef in my opinion is getting that crispy beef texture and then just enough sweet to make the heat worthwhile. I loved it.
The chicken balls were pretty standard fare and I think I only ordered them to make sure I had some extra sauce on hand.
The Spring Rolls were hot, crispy and tasty. Some places go crazy with the Chinese 5-spice powder, Chef Express kept it pretty tight.
Great experience and will definitely be back again to see if this was first-timers luck. Keep it up Chef Express!
Follow up experience - 2 months later.Decided to try the pizza.
I would describe it as 'OK' at best. The crust was the real problem for me as it tasted like one of those precooked crusts you can get at most food stores. Really not great. The toppings were reasonably good though I had one pie with extra cheese and I think both got the same treatment. I'll come back again for the Chinese food but not the pizza. These guys need to stick with their strengths.
Great food.. Will be going back..,,The shrimp was done perfectly.. I see a lot of bad reviews but I always get mine delivered hot and fresh..
My roommate and I were looking for somewhere to sit down and eat a little later in the evening. We were craving an Asian dish and we just couldn't find anywhere that wasn't take out; we were very happy that Chef Express was open late. We went in and had a dinner for two; chicken fried rice, chow mein and sweet and sour pork, we also ordered delicious spring rolls, and a big bowl of deluxe won ton soup. The food was delicious and well presented, and the service was great! We are so full!!

Late night delivery :). So I'm definitely a night owl and I love Asian food but I always seem to miss out because I work night shifts and usually want dinner around 11pm. So when I found this place was open and delivered late I was excited, but hesitant because I've had some seriously nasty Asian food delivered late at night. I order dinner for 1a (sweet and sour pork, fried rice, chicken chow mien, and an egg roll), ginger chicken, and almond gai ding. First off the dinner for one surprised me it was 10$ so I expected it to be just a taste of everything but it is a big portion! I was really impressed everything was delicious and the vegetables were fresh and crisp, which I love. My only little negative was the ginger chicken was a little overcooked, next time I think I would get ginger beef instead. But it was still tasty! I'm ordering from there tonight on my lunch break! Yum yum.
DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS. Ever look in the fridge and say, hmm, then look at the menus and still say, hmm? Picked up the menu from Chef Express and saw they had a Seafood Pizza on their list and well it was Friday and it was NOT in the fridge so order it I had to do. No green peppers of course and it was truly amazing, it arrived in about 40 minutes and the driver was pleasant as was the lady I spoke with on the phone. I was expecting a greasy pizza, however I was wrong, although there was quite a bit of cheese and ranch so it was far from dry. I am now looking forward to trying some of some of the other items on their menu and judging by the other reviews, it seems this place is destined to be a hit for a long time. Thanks go to the staff for making this Friday very pleasant and Tasty to boot.
Good was good, cheap, and fast, but I don't think they are really prepared for dine in yet.
3Am in the morning!!!!. What a great found!!we were staving at 3am in the morning after work and found this restaurant is still opening,so we gave it a try,i also found they got pizza and chinese on the menu,so i ordered a little bit of everything.and man,the food were delicious,and the delively was faster than i thought it would be,that was awesome that having all these in the middle of the night,will definitely order here again!!!
Fantastic!. I am amazed at the reviews here. We purchase the Groupon deal for $29 worth a food. A ton of food! More than enough for four people. Fresh, hot, very tasty! The curried chicken is fantastic, very gingery. We're eating it as I write this review and everyone is blown away by the knock out flavor. Really sweet people running this place. Wouldn't hesitate to order again. Unless the cooking is incredibly inconsistent, then I'm shocked at the negative reviews. I wish the family who runs this much success as we enter the Chinese New Year. Keep up the great cooking! (and no, I'm not a relative!)
I was very happy with their Chinese dishes and will order again. Good quality. Fried rice was somewhat bland though. I absolutely loved the Thai red curry with chicken, it's the best I've ever tasted. I was very impressed with their delivery time as I live at the edge of the city and they were here within 45 minutes of me ordering. This is the best place for late night food in town and I will be recommending it.
Unreal chinese for a place open so late, really nice people they just need a call bell or something.
Satay Chicken and Vegetables: Good flavour, nice white chicken meat and good variety of hearty vegetables that were not over cooked.
Ginger Beef: Good sized chunks of beef. A lot of other places either have no beef or over cook them.
Sweet and sour pork: Good meat and flavour
Shanghai Noodles: Fresh noodles, love the flavour, yummy chicken beef and shrimp and big hearty vegetables cooked well again.
The food here is the absolute best. The staff are always friendly and kind. Just a heads up though that they are more geared towards delivery!

Ordered fairly late in the night and everything arrived perfect, almost too hot to eat right away. Absolutely fantastic flavour! We ordered crab Rangoon, chicken chow mein, spicy ginger beef, honey garlic chicken and spring rolls. Fair prices and quick delivery. Was ordered thru Skip but it is their own drivers.
My boyfriend and I usually ordered from China inn as they had the best spicy ginger beef and Shanghai noodle. Disappointed to hear they closed so we had to try a new place tonight. Ordered from here and it was OUTSTANDING. Huge portions, food came so hot and it was all so delicious. Loved the spring rolls and Crab rangoon as well. Highly recommend and will order again !
This was hands down the best take away food I have eaten. It arrived hot. The egg roll was crunchy on the outside and not overcooked as the veggies inside were crisp. Every mouthful was bliss. Noodles, rice and chicken. Highly recommend. My new goto food shop.
Haven't ever really had a bad experience here. The food is always hot and fresh. Tastes amazing too. Just wish they offered substitutes for their combo dishes
Everything was sooooo good. The Sweet and Sour chicken was so crispy and Juicy. Every bite of the chicken was crispy. Ordered the Chicken Fried rice and the Rice was crispy and somewhat spicy which was a nice/beautiful surprise. Im allergic to seafoods and asked for shrimp to be taken off and they took off the shrimp like i asked. Everything was just 10. Im going to order again soon
Ordered the lemon chicken and sweet & sour ribs with chicken fried rice and lo mein. This place was amazing. Food came hot and fresh. Driver was kind and helpful. I can't rave about this place enough. Everything was delicious. Will order again. Thanks bunches chef express.😋😋😋
My boyfriend and I ordered from here a few nights ago, and it was the best Chinese food I've had in a very long time. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The lemon shrimp is delicious! 😋
