Ordered from Skip the Dishes. We got crab tempura, Gyoza, and several types of rolls. We enjoyed all of it. Tasted fresh and was well-rolled. Not amazing sushi, but good for Saskatoon. Will likely order again.
Went for a quick all you can eat sushi dinner tonight. We used to come here quite often for sushi lunches and it was always delicious, but the overall quality has gone down a bit. The salmon roses and salmon nigiri were super small with minimal salmon. The rolls are also smaller pieces, which can sometimes be nice. The service was really fast and we definitely didn't have to wait long. Overall still had a great meal.
The food was great and tasted fresh. I didn't like the bubble tea. It seemed way too sweet for what I was expecting also there were very few pearls in the one I got which was disappointing. I would try this place again because the sushi was cheap and good quality.
They serve the best sushi in town ! The first time I went there, I was not impressed by their service. But the food they served helped me forget all about their service. If you are a sushi lover, make sure you check this place out. The prices are reasonable. The lunch buffet is worth every penny. And you can have as many sushi as you like. :D
Excellent Lunch. Six of us went for lunch and ordered almost 20 different dishes. Most were excellent. I can recommend the spicy salmon, sweet and sour chicken and fried dumplings. The stir fried dishes were okay but I wouldn't order them again.
The soups were good as well.
The portions were quite small however hence the 20+ dishes. We will definitely go back.
Sushi Is NOT Raw Fish. Missed reservation time at Saboroso's ( my fault as usual) so went someplace I had never been and I was pleasantly surprised. Arrived shortly before 9PM and Thankfully my lady had been their previously and knew the menu so we had a bountiful feast within 15 minutes. Foods were hot and tasty and the staff were near by and not hovering around. Even with my active appetite, there was take home and the price was approx 1/3 of what I had figured for Saboroso's. Give this place a try and if You didn't know ( I didn't) sushi is NOT raw fish, and Yes, they do have a two sided menu. Enjoy.
Decent AYCE. Definitely one of the better of the AYCE sushi restaurants in Saskatoon. Ate there last night and it was quick and efficient service. The sushi was fresh and the grilled/deep-fried items were tasty. The best was a skewer of shrimp which I could have ordered 5 or 6 orders of.
Not much different than New Island but perhaps a small cut above and a slightly lower price.
They added a side two to the menu. Other than the addition of some Thai food it is *exactly* the same as it was when it was a New Island Sushi.
Good:
They've lost the bad fish smell that New Island used to have. The food was decent but pretty standard for sushi in Saskatoon. They don't seem to use any MSG, or less MSG, since I didn't get the same MSG hangover I get from some other places. I think they lowered the supper price to $19.99, it seems to me it was $24.99 before.
Bad:
Other than the Thai additions to the menu the food, furniture, and atmosphere is identical to what it was as New Island sushi.
Verdict:
Meh. It has a new name and some added menu items but it's still New Island Sushi.
Delicious. The food was great and the service a lot quicker than what I'm used to at similar all you can eat sushi places. I loved the addition of curry and thai dishes. One thing I wish they would do is play some music and hang some art to add to the atmosphere a bit, it was pretty stark and completely silent while we ate.
