This is my favourite place in Saskatoon for baked goods! Their coconut cream tart is AMAZING - so creamy and sweet, with toasted coconut on top. Their sandwiches are also yummy, with unexpected fillings (my favourite is the hummus). They always make a great soup, as well. The staff is so friendly and helpful. In fact, one day I popped in and was going to order a lunch when I realized I had driven all the way there from work only to leave my wallet on my desk. I was going to leave, and wouldn't have had time to return with my wallet. The owner stopped me and said it was on him! That is going above and beyond to care for his customers! What a great local business.
I was hosting a bbq, and I went here to pick up gluten free buns for a friend. I'm so glad I forgot to send her home with the leftovers. They were cheese buns, and they were super delicious. And I believe they were 6 for 6 bucks. I'll be buying them again for myself!
I have had a variety of desserts and sandwiches from Griffin. I really enjoyed all of them. However I found that some of the cheesecakes can be thick and dry in consistency. I like how the sandwiches are different in regards to their toppings and that they are made on the delicious bread made here. While Griffin isn't my go to for desserts or lunch, it's still a good choice.

I ordered a couple cheesecakes for Valentine's Day and they were great! They will pretty much make whatever kind you would like and have so many options ! I ordered white chocolate and raspberry and the other was blondie. They were both equally delicious so that gives me high hopes to come back and pick up some of their non desert items ! They are also super friendly and helpful!
I've only had the desserts but they are excellent. I really like that they are gluten free. The stuff isn't dry or tasteless like a lot of gluten free things. The portions are generous and the staff is friendly. The location is out of the way for me but because I enjoy their desserts I'm willing to take the detour to have a treat.
This place just gets it. Firstly I'm not vegan or gluten sensitive so that don't matter to me but taste does and wow. Portion sizes are great food is amazing. Peanut butter and chocolate yumm this place will be around as long as the wish i imagine one of the best places in the city. Those who don't know about it are missing out.

As someone with celiac disease, I've always struggled with those crazy busy days that I don't have any time to cook or eat out, because there aren't a lot of gluten-free fast food options, but if I'm over on the East side, then The Griffin Takeaway is my hands-down my go-to. It's easily one of my favourite places in the city, with a selection of sandwiches, soups and salads that will be ready in a jiffy, and a large case of delicious baking - all of which is gluten-free! I've been there a ton, and it's become one of my staples. I can always expect a most delicious dessert that doesn't make me one bit paranoid. I'm always torn between cheesecakes, brownies, pastries, cookies, and tarts. They have so many options, and it always looks splendid. Chocolate Cream Puff They also have a selection of soups and sandwiches, but I haven't tried very many. I usually order the pulled pork, which is delicious and I love it. Pulled Pork Sandwich To be honest, pretty much everything else is a little "weird". You'll find hummus, goat cheese and artichokes, but not much for "classics". However, if you're looking for dairy-free, vegan, or vegetarian options, you will find them here! Brownie with icing and cherry If you have any dietary restrictions at all, I would recommend checking out the food at Griffin, and if you're looking for a great bakery on the East side, definitely check them out! It's one of those places that proves gluten-free can be delicious too.
AMAZING. That is all.. I love The Griffin Takeaway to bits. Incredible food, and fantastic staff. Everyone here is knowledgeable, professional, and are also just downright lovely people. They work hard, and you can tell that all of the food here is made by someone who loves what they do. Awesome job, guys!! Keep it up. I highly recommend this to everyone! Check it out!
I want cheesecake. Omg those little cheesecakes, absolutely delightful! And I could eat endless amounts of their chick pea chilli. Love all the vegetarian and gluten free options! Staff is always friendly and helpful. You rock, griffin.
