Points for effort. Let me be clear- the cooking is good BUT is limited by the quality of ingredients. If the place were to invest a bit more in higher-quality ingredients the food would be fantastic.
I just had spring rolls and fresh veggie n shrimp rolls and it was amazing. Super excellent food. The sauces for both were also very very excellent. Great service also.
This place is awesome. No complaints! Amazing fish sauce and thier spring rolls are the best in town. The meat on the Bun dish was tasty. The restaurant is a little out of the way but worth trying.
Red and orange motif is to my liking. Chairs were comfy. Decor is a bit drab. Service was, as others have pointed out, rather gruff and to the point. I had a Vietnamese iced coffee, which brewed at the table. Not sure if I liked that, I think I would rather just have it come out ready to drink. We started with two spring rolls and two lemongrass chicken rolls; both were good. I had the special (chicken and shrimp) Tom yum soup which was quite tasty. Partner tried their ginger beef, which he also enjoyed. Good meal, but not amazing and not memorable enough to drive to 51st street for on a regular basis.
Love this place, we go when we want consistent great food and friendly service! I have my favorites but whenever I've ventured away from them I have not been disappointed!
The Mi Hong special, their lemongrass chichen is awesome and the pho is amazing.
Everything we've ever had from Mi Hong has been delicious. Usually order to pick up and the volume of orders being placed in the restaurant and going out the door for take out is a good sign. Ginger beef and hot spring rolls are the best I've ever had. Mi Hong Special is consistently good and recommended for a quick lunch.Parking sucks and the hours are goofy but the food will make up for it! Thank you Mr. Mi Hong (saw you at Costco the other day)
arrived at 11:50, and was sat immediately. They were nice enough to give them the last table (for 6) for my party of two. We both had the Tom Yum Soup, it was fantastic.
Been back for several more Tom Yum soups, so good.
Very delicious noodle bowls and spring rolls. Good specials too. Staff is effective but aren't very sociable. Has the usual Vietnamese diner feel.
I have been going here since they opened. Hands down one of the best. Went there once a week at one time. Had not been in awhile went Thursday and just as good as ever. Their hot rolls are the best in the city. I have tried several and nothing compares. The Rice vermicelli satay dishes are delicious and one of my favourites. I have never been disappointed and i suggest that if you have it was a rare occurrence.
Favourite Lunch Spot. Get here by 11:30 if you don't want to wait for a table. Parking can be limited.
There is nothing fancy about the décor but the food is excellent and the service is friendly
The fresh rolls are excellent and are worth the trip alone.
It is a good value and a favourite for a quick lunch.
