I eat lunch here 2-3 times a week. Great value and great flavor. Every bite has just as much flavor as the last. You can tell they use quality products and take great care in preparing the food. There are other sushi places in Saint John and I've tried a few. But, this remains my go to spot.
I went with my buddy the other day; he got me to try the angry tuna rolls and veggie ..dumplings I believe they were. We went right when they opened at 1:00, so we expected to wait a bit, then after only four or five minutes of waiting the server brought us over free miso soup.
The wait for the main food didn't take long at all. It looked delicious - I was amazed by the food art created there- and tasted even better. I would definitely recommend Sense of Tokyo.
Oh.. Also : it was my first time using chop sticks, so it it was lunch and an adventure!
They have a small dining area, so if you are coming with more than 4 people, I suggest calling first and make a reservation just incase. When I went for dinner, it wasn’t too busy but eventually, by the time I’m ready to leave, all the tables were occupied. They give you free miso soup and they have free wifi too, which is a bonus since I’m not from there. This is not AYCE, it is off the menu. I ordered the California roll, Philly roll and fried sushi. They were all delicious. I’m 7 months pregnant and I was craving for sushi so badly. What I love about their menu is that it indicates with a symbol for which sushi roll is cooked, so it’s easy to decide what you want when you can’t eat anything raw. I had good service as well! I just felt bad that there was only one waitress working so she was hustling around between tables. But overall, really good!!
In terms of quality this place is up there, the sashimi is buttery soft and delicious. Nice large sized pieces of fish in the rolls, sashimi is decent sized.
It is expensive, but you get what you pay for here. Having been so disappointed with Naru in Fredericton I'm happy to know I can go here when I am in Saint John. We spent $100 for two, the same in Naru. Night and day in terms of quality and portion sizes.
Very nice place, cozy and reasonably priced. Customer service was fine, a bit slow with only one waitress but the food was amazing. The miso soup was good, the spicy chicken udon was not spicy at all, and the yakisoba was great. The Maki rolls were phenomenal. Great job. Would recommend.
Great service, the staff were very kind and the food was amazing, the food display was great and very tasty, everything was fresh and the apatizers were great.
Truly one of the hidden gems in saint John. Really amazing food and great service. Very reasonably priced. It is better to make a reservation so that you can be guaranteed to get a table when you arrive.
Ordered the grilled eel with rice. Very good taste! (It just got cold fast due to blizzard maybe) with salad, miso soup, and green tea. All for $21+ after hst $25. reasonable price with good atmosphere and polite asian service. I will be a repeat customer.
We got takeout, (takoyaki, caterpillar roll, and soft shell crab roll, miso soup.) It was delicious! Best sushi I've had in Saint John, hands down. The takoyaki was a nice treat, hard to find this dish! I will be a repeat customer. Thanks!
Amazing sushi with lovely Japanese cultural commitment in their presentation and service.
