Another month, another family dinner. This time, it was at Shi Art Chinese restaurant in Richmond. Why it was called that, I’m not too sure… Shi Art Chinese restaurant offers a wide variety of “high end” Chinese cuisine. Shi Art appetizer plate. ⭐⭐⭐. Rating: 3 out of 5.
Shi Art might not be the most popular upscale Chinese restaurant in Richmond and their dinner menu is quite pricey. However, they have some great dishes that hit the spot with creativity and great flavour. I highly recommend taking the advantage of their recent specials such as the live lobster and the sea cucumber hotpot. (Make sure to call them first to find out) As for their the regular menu, I have discovered the Black Truffle Chicken and it is one of the most memorable Chinese dishes for me in 2018.
My aunt was visiting from China so we all went for a family dinner at Shi-Art. It’s located inside Richmond Centre next to Tim Horton’s. It’s easily accessible by public transit and there’s plenty of parking. The restaurant has been around for a long time but I’ve only been once when I was quite young so it’s basically like my first time here.
I really enjoyed the dim sum here. I came on a Sunday, we ordered 7 dishes and waited for a while until 4 came out altogether. Then the last 3 came. The siu mai were larger than other places I've been too but had more pork than shrimp, I prefer the other way around! That being said... it, along with the other dishes, was still really good and I would definitely return in the future 👌
Surprisingly classy restaurant in Richmond Centre mall. We had dinner there and the food was really quite good. The fried chicken was very crispy-skinned and tender on the inside, and the chow mein was quite tasty too. We got a delicious dessert pudding at the end too. Only quibble was it was sometimes hard to get the attention of the staff when we needed something (like the bill).
Doesn't matter even if the food is or not. One thing i m not impressed is that when u lineup b4 it opens, seniors never lineup and jump in front of u. Other thing is, the restaurant runs a very tpyical chinese "customs". When u enter the reataurant that just opened (i m the first one)' they already said not to sit at those already have teapot (and newspaper). Obviously they reserve those to customers they know and its more than one table. Why should i give business to them if they run it this way. I dont think it helps even u make reservation as they will give priority they know. Taste of food ok.
November 9, 2015 · by ThatShanghaiGirl · Dimsum on sundays! Haven’t had dimsum for awhile so me and my fam decided to try out Shi-Art, since it’s been on my to-eat list for awhile. We made a reservation for 12:30 but got seated around 12:50, not the worst wait but definitely not the best either. Luckily this place
You can order dim sum past the typical hours. If your craving for dim sum at 3 pm, this is the place to go. Usually long line-ups in the afternoon. They have a good selection of dim sum and I love their shredded chicken dish.
At first I was a little confused… I've heard of places rushing diners out quickly but never before receiving the dishes! We managed to figure out that they have a discount if you pay for your food before 11am and they were just letting us pay first to get the discount since it was just before 11am.
