Green tea frappe today with aloe vera and coconut jelly with mango sauce and condensed milk....SO GOOD. Coconut jelly was a bit sweet (they can't really do anything about it) but the green tea shaved ice wasn't too sweet with a nice subtle bitterness :)

I used to get these all the time at Aberdeen with Neko but haven’t had it in a few years. It was nice to be able to try it again. Although it’s called “shaved ice” it’s really more like “shaved icecream” because they use condensed milk as part of the basis of the “ice” resulting in a creamier texture than traditional shaved ice. Their presentation has improved from a few years ago since they used to serve it in styrofoam bowls instead of parfait cups. But this was actually a not so good thing because it also meant that it wasn’t very balanced and we actually tipped the entire thing over! We were all speechless when it happened and madly tried to salvage what we could. It was still delicious of course…but just not as visually appealing heh.

Aberdeen centre’s food court snakes around and allows over 20 different stands to have their own dedicated space. Lots of effort was put into decorating each stall. Each had its name in bold, a menu with photos, and some even a display of items served utilizing accurately portrayed plastic food. Not surprisingly, most of the writing used was Chinese characters, but the coloured photos and the glossy fake food helped to bridge the language gap. I will be covering all 20 of the foodcourt dining options across several posts.

After stuffing myself to the brim with dim sum and snacks from Daiso, I managed to just make enough room to force somew shaved ice down my throat.

NO REGRETS. The shaved ice was a delight! Maybe I have low standards because the shaved ice in Calgary is rather mediocre in comparison, but I would definitely force myself to eat past bloated for this.

We made our own shaved ice using mango frappe, strawberries, kiwis, and grass jelly. No sauce, but the ice was just sweet enough! SUCH A TREAT 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND.

Frappe Bliss is my favorite shaved ice place! What makes this place unique is that they use flavoured milk ice instead of normal ice. I know many places make milk ice now, however I still like the texture of the ice at frappe bliss the best. It's not overly creamy, its nice and flaky. I recently went back for another visit and I realized that the portions got smaller which is really disappointing, but it still tasted the same. My favorite is the green tea frappe!

If you don't really like the shaved ice, maybe you'll like frappe bliss. Instead of using shaved ice, they use some sort of frozen milky icecream ..? To me it tastes like icecream but way better! You can choose between different flavors of frozen milk too

Delicious Shaved Dessert. Took awhile to get my Chocolate Earthquake as only one person was working there on a weekend.

The dessert with Green Tea shaved ice tasted quite nicely for the hot weather along with the Oreo crumbs and chocolate syrup.

Love it !!!. Always tempted to go here everytime I set foot in Richmond. Their lychee ice is excellent, and the light texture is a refreshing change from ice cream on a hot day. They have loads of toppings, ranging from fresh fruit to mochi balls and aloe vera. You can also add condensed milk on top for free :)

Only complaint is that they only take cash, sometimes long line ups, and if you don't go early enough in the afternoon, they're often out of mochi balls.

Refreshing. After throwing back a half dozen chicken wings, i head to frappe bliss for a plain mango ice. it's incredibly light flakes of mango flavored ice - different but delicious. there's loads of other flavors and toppings galore, but the mango plain is just fine in my books.

Creamy tasty shaved ice. This place has the best shaved ice ever. I always get the plain milky one with extra condense milk, and it always tastes great. This place and daiso are my only 2 reasons of going to Aberdeen.

Frappe Bliss (located inside of Aberdeen) specializes in shaved iced desserts! Frappe Bliss is actually affiliated with Mazazu Crepe and Saboten, because you can use their stamp card at all 3 stores. You can choose your own ice flavour (milk, mango, matcha, etc) and then choose your toppings! Or you can go with their already recommended pairings. I went with their Matcha Delight! 2/5 stars When I got this, I was not impressed. For $5.50, the portion size was tiny and the presentation was sloppy. I had looked up reviews on Urbanspoon, yelp, and foursquare and the portion sizes in other people's photos were much larger than mine. The Matcha Delight consists of matcha ice cream, red bean, mochi, and milk shaved iced. I had saw Followmefoodie's picture of her matcha shaved ice cream, and it was huge! You can go look at her review and compare it. Mine is so tiny compared to hers! The dish it came in was already really shallow, and the shaved ice had barely been filled up 2/4

After lunch we went over to aberdeen to do some shopping around and when we’re at aberdeen, without a doubt we have to stop for frappe bliss. There is no dessert like this anywhere else (not that I know of at least) that can be found around here. It’s a Taiwanese “snow flake” ice dessert where instead of shaved ice, they shave a block of frozen ice cream type block.

I've walked past Frappe Bliss stall in Aberdeen for years now and have always wanted to order something from it, but I have never seen anyone approach it. After reading another one of O My Sweet Tooths post about Frappe Bliss, I decided to drag Marv with me to try 1 out before dinner =) Frappe Bliss 4151 Hazelbridge Way, Richmond BC Tel#: (604) 288-1002 Once we arrived, there was no one behind the counter. I think that's another reason why I've never ordered here, it always looked like it was closed. The past few times we've noticed there's always a sign saying, 'out of rice balls'. Does anyone know if they will get these again?? After standing there for a while, I decided on the Strawberry Romance. Actually what I really wanted to try was the peanut iceberg, but Marv rejected that idea! They were out of strawberry ice cream that day, so we settled for a scoop of mango ice cream. I really enjoyed this dessert, it was refreshing and the bed of

Frappe Bliss serves up flavoured shaved ice at Aberdeen Mall. The flavours can range from Mango to Peanut. This little kiosk is actually owned by Fairchild. Isn't that interesting? It's like they practically own most of everything in the mall. Frappe Bliss has moved around in many locations in the food court, but they currently reside between the Mambo Cafe and the Anime store. Frappe Bliss was actually my first job that I ever had. I was so glad the job didn't last long because as an Chinese person who ca

The shaved ice was insanely good at Frappe Bliss. They use flavored ice blocks and shave it into silky fluffy snow consistency whereas others do a snow cone rendition with chunky ice and syrup poured on top. It must be the toppings - fluffy soft mochi, dainty red beans, fruits and ice cream.

One of our favorite mini-vacation is a trip to Richmond, British Columbia. Since it is only about 2 1/2 hours away, we usually head up there once a month during the weekend and we are there for only ONE reason and that is to pig out on Asian food! Even though there is an abundance of Asian food offerings in Seattle, there is none as authentic as those available in Richmond. Usually for every trip, we will try to try something different but one of the place that we must visit every time is the Aberdeen Centre Food Court. Sometimes we pig out there and sometimes we just have desserts. Here are some of the stuff that Aberdeen food court offers. From Cafe Delight – the Hainanese Chicken Rice – C’s favorite. The chicken is soft and silky and the rice is fragrant. It comes with chili sauce and ground ginger and a small bowl of soup on the side. It comes pretty close to those available in Malaysia. Then we have DH’s favorite – Wu Fung Dessert. I am not sure why it is called a dessert stall when their most popular items are the fried chicken wings and curry fish ball. Their chicken wings sell like hot cakes. Since they are so popular, they are always made to order thus you will always get freshly fried chicken wings. None of those chicken wings that has been sitting under the heating lamp!! They also offer fried squid which is just as good as the wings. Always crispy and flavorful. Not forgetting the curry fish ball. This one is actually a hit or miss dish. Somedays they are good and somedays they are not. I think it depends on how long the fish ball has been sitting there. They also offer make noodle soup where you choose your favorite kind of noodle and ingredients. Here DH chose the thin noodles with meatballs and fried tofu skin. For desserts, we have Frappe Bliss. I have previously blogged about them. Here’s the strawberry snow with strawberry ice cream and strawberries. I have to admit that while I used to love these desserts, I feel that their standards are really dr

This particular time I tried Milk flavored ice topped with Mango. The frappe was rich with milk flavor (it is sweetened) and goes very well with the sweet and slightly tart fresh mangoes. The ice itself is $2.95 and the fruit topping was $0.81. I believe

I liked the place the woman who works there was friendly, I tried the rainbow, was good! Anyways I think a little bit more of ice cream could be better I think they gave me a little so I couldn't enjoy all the bubbles with the ice cream because it was a few. But is really good.
