Milkcow is a Korean dessert chain focusing on high quality, organic milk soft serve. We loved it so much that we have been back a few more times! This post contains multiple visits.

Milkcow is a Korean dessert chain that specializes in organic soft serve ice cream. They’re located near the Richmond Oval. I always thought it’d be similar to Soft Peaks so I wasn’t dying to try it but they also have souffle pancakes now which peaked my interest. The cafe is spacious and bright with seating for about 20 people. They serve about 12 different varieties of soft serve and 2 seasonal flavours. Most of the options are around $6.50.

Last summer “Milk Cow’s” highly anticipated store opening was marked and celebrated by the appearance of their watermelon soft serve flooding all social media channels. It was enough of lure to have me taking the drive through two cities to see what the buzz was all about. Their all glass exterior was inviting, their white sign with black and white cow splotched “O” eye catching. You walk right in and order from the counter at the back, right in front of the chalkboard drawn map depicting all “Milk Cow” locations around the world.

Photogenic ice cream that tastes great!

A 15 minute walk from the Lansdowne train station. Located just opposite the TNT supermarket within a block of apartments.

The store is spacious & clean with a great interior.
The ice cream is creamy & not as sweet as it seems. The added various toppings presumably will give the ice cream it’s sweetness.

The black pearl is basically Nutella spread whirled around the ice cream with some sea salt flakes. The pleasant surprise are the malteasers on the bottom.

The cookies & cream is presented beautifully but is basically crushed up Oreos biscuit crumbs with soft serve ice cream with a Oreo placed elegantly on the side.

My recommendation- the black pearl, Nutella & ice cream is always a good idea!

Milkcow Cafe is a popular soft ice-cream place franchise from Korea.

The flavour toppings here are definitely unique in comparison to other competitors. The texture of the ice cream is like whipped butter and there was a subtle milk flavour.

The interior is bright and clean.

The parking is kinda confusing - it is located underground but not clear where the elevator is. There is no street parking available as well.

Newly opened in Richmond is Milk Cow Cafe, a South Korean-based dessert cafe specializing in organic soft serve with creative toppings.  Located within the Richmond Olympic Oval district, this is currently the only Canadian location for the Korean chain which has over 50 locations worldwide including USA, Australia, UAE and more.  This store is owned and operated by two brothers which I found out after talking to one brother who was working at the time.  I visited Milk Cow Cafe earlier today to try some of their soft serve offerings.

These desserts did justice to the cravings of our sweet tooth. The portions are for sharing. Plating is nicely presented and they taste very good too. The gold plated cutleries are worth mentioning in this review coz these made our dining experience fancy 😉. The lady server we had was friendly. She recommended the watermelon and we enjoyed it too. Parking is at the back.

Yummy must-go dessert place in Richmond! There is one parking lot nearby so it’s convenient for those who drive. Look small from the outside but it is actually bigger inside. Clean and decent place with two huge monitors showing Korean music videos all the time. Cute paintings on the wall that depict their tasty dessert that make people drool while waiting for the food. The wall all the way inside, behind the counter has very romantic stickers of trees and a phrase that says “Love Forest”. We ordered one lava cake, which is $11, and one small strawberry bingsoo, which is about $10.75. The server said strawberry, and melon and cheese bingsoos are the two most popular here, so we picked strawberry. And she was right! The strawberry bingsoo was filled with sugar-coated strawberries, with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream on top and sweet shaved ice at the bottom with a little bit of strawberry sauce. Everything blended in perfectly that we couldn’t help it but finish it in such a short period of time. The lava cake was huge! It was literally a cake like those birthday cakes in the bakery, with some banana pieces on the side and chocolate sauce all over them. There were also two scoops of vanilla ice cream, one on top and on on the side, and some whipping cream. The cake was cut into small cubes to make it easier for us to eat. It was filled with chocolate when we cut it in the middle, and it tasted soooo good! It was not too sweet though there was chocolate sauce every where, which I really like :). However, it got quite messy as the ice cream started to melt and the chocolate in the middle mixed with it. Service was quite good compared to the Sulmida I went on Kingsway, whose service was the worst ever! They also had different options for tips which did not force you to tip at least 10% for them.

I ordered a chocolate shaved ice with some berries in it and it was delicious! Also got some of the toast stuff that they offer and it was delicious. All of the staff were very friendly! They also have a TV playing a bunch of really good korean MVs. Their music playlist is also super good too. Just be careful if you get the chocolate shaved ice thing that I got in the picture, if you engage the cocoa powder it's like you're doing the cinnamon challenge and you just kind of start coughing a bunch.. at least it tastes good though

Nice little desert shop, the decorations is simple and the place seats around 20 people. The food presentation was done right and tasted well but was a bit overpriced for my experience. Worth a try once !!

We got mango and injeolmi (single) for about 13 CAD. Super good bingsu as the ice is a cream base versus water based. This allows for each bite to be gently welcomed with a soft powdery palate cleanser. The mango was fresh and juicy while the injeolmi had that subtle nutty flavor. Both are solid choices but I think I liked the mango better as it was a more refreshing dessert. The flavors are solid but at 13 CAD for a single bowl, it's a little pricey in comparison to other bingsu shops in its category. A must try if you are visiting Vancouver or after a hearty meal!

Long waits on weeknights and weekends! Go during off hours! Two people can't finish a small order so it's better to go with more people. Mango is always good! I love the gold cutlery :) Service wasn't that great though as there were a lot of dirty tables. I know it gets busy but we had to ask to get our tables clean.
