Ben and I went to get some stuff from Canadian Tire. After shopping, Ben decided to take a walk. Our walk ended at Aberdeen Center. We decided to grab a bite at the Aberdeen Food Court. Ben was not hungry. We just share a combo meal from Chef of Dumplings. We added a dessert to our combo meal and the bill came to $10.
Good price! For $8.25, you will get dumplings, lamb stir fried, Asian pancake and a cup of imitation shark fin soup. The lamb was flavorful, the pancake tastes very good. Dimpling were ok and the soup was blend. Overall, I think it is okay coz you can't beat the value of $8.25!
Like this place because the set menu that it offers has all the fav food that I like - northern chinese dumplings, spicy squid, green onion pancake and imitation shark fin soup! And all for around $8 :)) love the combination of squid and onion pancake, the soup wasn't too salty and too thick.
Pan fried Chinese chives with pork dumpling: the fillings in these was well distributed and balanced. Often times restaurants skimp out on the proteins but it wasn’t the case for these.
Aberdeen centre’s food court snakes around and allows over 20 different stands to have their own dedicated space. Lots of effort was put into decorating each stall. Each had its name in bold, a menu with photos, and some even a display of items served utilizing accurately portrayed plastic food. Not surprisingly, most of the writing used was Chinese characters, but the coloured photos and the glossy fake food helped to bridge the language gap. I will be covering all 20 of the foodcourt dining options across several posts.
Chef of Dumplings is a food stall located in the Aberdeen food court. For only $7.75, you get a choice of stir fried meat, dumplings, roti, and imitation shark fin soup. By their name, one would infer that they're dumplings are hand made. I was a little disappointed to learn that their dumplings aren't hand made but rather store bought frozen ones. You have a choice of squid, beef, pork or lamb. You can also choose between 4 types of dumplings. I went with the stiry fry lamb and chinese chive dumplings. Spicy Stir Fry Lamb: 4/5 stars This was actually surprisingly tasty! There was a substantial amount of lamb, which had been dosed with heavy spices. The lamb itself is really spicy so make sure you ask for non spicy if you can't take spicy foods haha! Half of the lamb was sitting in a sweet soy sauce, and the other half was

Chef of Dumplings is one of the newer additions to the Aberdeen food court. The food stall offers dumplings, imitation shark's fin soup, spicy squid, roti canai and stir fried meats. Chinese puddings are also offered and the prices are fairly reasonable here. ROTI CANAI COMBO ($7.75) I ordered the roti canai combo which includes an order of imitation shark's fin soup, dumplings, roti canai and a choice of squid, beef, pork or lamb. The combo is a good value considering the portions are not small and the selection includes a bit of everything the food stall offers. PORK AND CHIVE DUMPLINGS. Starting with the generic pork and chive dumplings, the skin is not too thick and the filling tastes moist. Personally I am not a fan of this type of skin because it resembles Korean style dumplings and I am confused why the vendor chose to call themselves "Chef of Dumplings" because the dumplings are not housemade. Although to be fair, the restaurant never claimed to make their own dumplings. Furthe
