The wings and the deep fried squid never disappoint! Even though the line up can be discouraging, they’re pretty quick to get the food out. I prefer the middle wings over the whole wing piece with the tip. Their Hong Kong style tea is good too!

The wings here are legendary. Seasoned to perfection, albeit with MSG (traditions), and made to order. Always blisteringly hot, fresh, and crispy. In my opinion, better than the ones from Phnom Penh Restaurant. Drinks are great, not at all watered down and you get a big cup for a small price. Perfect to wash down the wings.

came here during an afternoon break, and yup ordered a chicken wing, definitely cripsy and definitly good flavour on the coating and definitely loved it, the meat is still juicy and tender as well :D  more like a treat, and it's quite expensive for chicken wings though

Forget the dessert, the chicken wings are the item to order here. They deep fry the wings after you order so they are always hot and fresh. The wings have a ton of flavour and fall off the bone easily. The batter is crispy but light at the same time, it doesn't feel heavy when you eat it. The only downside is that the wings are pricey, we ordered nine pieces for fifteen dollars. If you're at Aberdeen mall craving wings, and are willing to spend a little extra then go to Wu Fung.

Strange with a place called Wu Fung Dessert, the most popular Item is their Chicken wings. Over time the price of the wings have gone up. The price to value ratio doesn't seem as good anymore, I haven't been in a long time. None the less, the chicken is still quite good.

What I ate: Fried Chicken and Pork Blood Soup with Extra Vegetables

From: Wu Fung Dessert

Payment type: Cash only

Preparation wait time: 7 min

Flavour Rating: 4 of 5

Value Rating: 4 of 5

Heat Level: 0 of 10

Would eat again: Yes!

To make it better: Although I like the soup base as it is, but for some customers it might be a little bit oily. Tip: While there might not be space for them to cool down their soup base the night before in the fridge, what one can do is to pour ice on top of room temperature soup base and skim the cooled fat on top.

Chef's take on it:

I have always been a fan of Wu fung. Their Chicken wings are legendary as so their Iced Lemon Tea. But what I always buy from them is their build-your-own soup with noodle and toppings

Their soup is a rich, pork and chicken based soup with a hints of spices. Excellent for a cold day or even as a light meal.

They have about 32 toppings of Cholesterol-causing to healty-er toppings to go with your soup such as beef tripe, beef brisket, Tendons, pig's skin, pig's blood, fish cake, fish balls, tofu skin, and many more.

You also have the option of 3 different kinds of noodles: Regular noodle (white), Vermicelli, and Rice noodle.

Now, I usually order the soup without noodles and instead I would ask for extra vegetables and over time it has become my "soul food" in the vast options of foodie goodness in the food court. Sometimes I only wanted to eat something simple, something soupy, light, but flavourful at the same time...and Wu Fung Dessert is definitely my go to place!

And last but not least is the HK Milk Coffee that I got...It was super good! The flavour reminds me of those strong Vietnamese drip coffee which we pay a ton when dining in a Pho restaurants and it only costs $2.14 plus tax! Amazing!!!

For you who wants to try exotic food such as tripes, tendons, blood, bung, and all of those wonderful artery-clogging delicacies, you defintiely have to try Wu Fung! :D

Thank you Wu Fung for being my soul food in times of need...

Sincerely,

Eat-Aberdeen

Their most popular items are actually their chicken wings and deep fried squid. Mamallama, Baby-Paca and I usually get them whenever we visit Aberdeen, but we haven't had them in the recent year after their price increase, decrease in portion size and decline in quality. They're not the same anymore, but now that I'm talking about it, I kind of miss them. Maybe I'm just hungry right now. Their fried full wings were fall off the bone, crispy, plump and juicy. They're battered just right, and not too oily. Their fried squid's done just as good, but I'm biased toward wings. They're not as delicious as they used to be, but they're still pretty good.

This is my first time trying their a-la-cart noodles (車仔麵). You get to pick the type of noodle you want and which toppings you'd like from their assortment. For 2 items it's $5.75, for 3 it's $6.75 and for 4 it's $7.75. I got the thick rice noodle(?) (瀨粉) with 3 toppings; curry fishballs, beef brisket and honey comb tripe. It was difficult choosing my toppings as there were a variety of enticing items I could've picked. The noodles were al dente. The broth was tasty and didn't scream MSG, it wasn't overly salty nor underwhelming. They were pretty generous with the toppings as well. The fish balls were bouncy and had a lovely curry flavour, though I had to eat them first before all the curry bled into my soup. The honey comb tripe was not too chewy, well cooked and well braised. The beef brisket was cooked just right, super tender without any chewiness and had a nice fattiness to them. These were well braised as well and had a great meaty flavour. They also threw in a few stems of gai lan in there so I didn't feel guilty about not having any veggies, which was totally a bonus in my books.

I don't usually gravitate towards Canton food, but this time, I'm glad I did. Their noodles were yummy and affordable. I will probably be visiting Wu Fung a lot more often now that I've found a new love. Maybe my love for their wings and fried squid will rekindle as well.

With the name “Wu Fung Dessert,” you’d probably be thinking that I was going to review a place serving waffles, shaved ice and bubble tea.  Surprisingly, that is not the case.  Wu Fung Dessert is actually more known for their delicious deep fried delights.  In fact, they’re so good that you might just want to consider deep fried chicken wings as your new favourite dessert.

It's been 5 years since I've had their chicken wings and it's still just as amazing as I remembered.

Crispy, moist inside and salted just right.
Price went up a bit so it really does control the spending. It does get busy, so be patient because good food takes time.

The best way to describe this Hong Kong style fast food would be cheap, satisfying, and slightly addictive. My favourite things to get here would be their chicken wings, which are fried to order so they come out fresh and piping hot. They make a great afternoon snack, and pair well with one of their Hong Kong style drinks as well. At $7.75 for three wings and an iced tea, it's also easy on the wallet!
