Customer service was excellent. Servers were friendly and polite. They always checked on our needs at our table. We really appreciated it.
We made reservation a few days ago, so we had no problem getting a table although we had 10 people. The parking lot outside the restaurant is big, so there are a plenty of parking stalls. No problem with parking at all
I visited Sushi Aria on Cambie Street in Vancouver. The food was quite good there, so I expected the food at this branch in Richmond would be good as well. However, the food here turned out okay only. My table had ordered quite a lot of food such as salmon sashimi, katsu don, pork belly don, salmon Oshi sushi, hotate (scallops) Oshi sushi, Alaska roll, and etc. The quality of some of the food was good. However, the oshi sushi fell apart when I tried to pick it up on the plate.
One little reminder about their chopsticks. They were the disposable wooden ones. Once we had to split the pair of chopsticks into half, the wood on the chopsticks had a lot of little sticks that poked out on the top part. Be careful when you are using the chopsticks. A little wood stick poked into the skin of my hand that made me super uncomfortable. Not sure if the quality of the disposable wooden chopsticks was too cheap or having a bad quality.
Overall, eating at this restaurant was okay. If you were looking for cheap Japanese food and did not look for high quality of food, you could come here. It is good enough in this neighbourhood.
○slow service
○good food/ similar to most Japanese restaurants
○average price for the area
○family friendly
○alot of parking in the plaza
○would i go back? Maybe
This newly renovated restaurant was previously Shikisai. They also have a location on Cambie and King Edward St. Cozy space that accommodates about 40 people. Service was friendly and attentive. Server made sure our tea was topped up and checked in several times.
Food was pretty good. Sashimi was fresh and hot food came hot. They focus on presentation a bit as well. Our chicken yaki udon came in a large serving bowl but portion seemed small for $9. Salmon Oishi sushi was tasty. Tempura had a light batter and was freshly fried. Aria Tower was light and refreshing..could add a little more dressing though. Had to grab some take out as well and the server threw in a free miso soup..that was a great gesture.
Ample parking...will be a great go to close to home!
