Went there first time since I would like to try most ramen shops if I can. We went there right after they opened at 5pm. First glance of menu there are lots of options. I liked they tell u what's in their soup base. So we ordered Kyoto shoyu ramen, tonkotsu ramen, a combo dish consists of grilled rice ball with two fried chicken pieces. Also extra noodle for tonkotsu ramen. We received fried chicken and grilled rice ball first. They were excellent. Rice ball had just right amount of soy sauce. Not overly salted and tasted good with seaweeds. Chicken are decent for what it is. Both ramen has flavorful flavors on their own. However, I enjoyed their Kyoto shoyu ramen a bit more. It tasted a bit more refreshed after tonkotsu ramen. I also liked the noodle offered for Kyoto shoyu ramen a lot more. Since I m not a big fan of thin ramen. It can be changed I m pretty sure and it's good that they offered different kinds of noodle as option. Howevr, I just wish the extra noodle came a bit later at least til I almost finished ramen. They kinda stuck together as a ball when I got to them. We noticed they offered a lot of desserts and drinks. However, I guess I we will try them next time since their portion is pretty generous. Washroom is pretty clean and the shop is nice and clean as well. Food is solid for what it is and credit cards are welcome there. Parking is plenty since they are inside a plaza. We enjoyed the food and will be going back again. I will give it 5 out of 5. I would say I like this better than g-men on Stevenson.

Great little place with very tasty set menus. You can also order the mains by themselves so this will give you more variety should you need more to feel full. The desserts are definitely where its at and we'll be coming back for those for sure!

Came for lunch on a Thursday and we were promptly seated. Service was polite and attentive from what we could tell, and our food came in pretty short order. Richmond isn’t exactly known for being a ramen mecca, but Kyoto Takenoko is helping the city give Vancouver a run for its money. I ordered the Spicy Miso ramen and it was a hit for me. A smooth, full-bodied broth with a variety of toppings like bean sprouts, corn, bamboo shoots, and even some finely diced red onions for texture. The pork was incredibly melt in your mouth tender, and everything together was just pure bliss. My mom had their tonkotsu ramen whose broth was just full of delicious umami porky goodness. Prices are on par with other ramen joints but servings are more than ample and for $15.95, you can get your choice of ramen with any one of their rice bowls (ikura and mentaiko are my favourites), or some yaki onigiri and chicken karaage.

This restaurant is really close to what you can get and eat comparing to the ones in Japan. It is still in a soft opening period. People were waiting outside the restaurant before 5pm. After 5pm, the restaurant filled up with customers gradually. Food - we ordered 6 dishes: - unagi don (Good but can be better.... as we had really good unagi in Japan) - nabeyaki udon (good or above average... the texture of udon was great and close to what we had in japan) - zaru udon (cold udon with cold dipping soup - the best among all the dishes that we ordered tonight. The texture and flavour were so good that beat nabeyaki udon) - beef tataki (very good.... we saw customers next to our table had finished the meal but they still ordered one more dish of beef tataki) - ikura don (Good or above average.... we ordered the regular size that was still not quite big, so if you order a small size, it would be a side dish for you) - Kyoto pudding (good but we had better one else where) Pricing was reasonable. Customer service was great that all servers were friendly and they took good care of all customers. A couple of the Japanese servers were very polite. The restaurant is located in a complex, so don't need to worry about parking. Lots of parking spots. Overall, we had a great eating experience here and it is close to what we can get in Vancouver. We would like to go back and try other dishes.

One of the best ramen in Richmond, BC. The soup base is very rich and thick. If you have been Japan and tried Ramen in Japan, you will find the similar taste of it.

First time here and went during the work week with a coworker for lunch. Outside the restaurant was a male staff member who welcomed and led us right to a table. Soon after we were given menus and asked what type of beverage we'd like tea water pop. Opted for water but found out they charge for tea so keep that in mind if you like tea. For food I opted for the combo option of mini ikura rice bowl + ramen. For ramen I picked the spicy miso ramen with regular level spicy. When it arrived I took a spoonful to taste the broth. It was very spicy and made me cough hard and eyes water. It could be because they used a spicy powder or oil which was still on the surface and I just got a high concentration of it in the spoonful. My mistake for not mixing it first. After that initial taste and mixing the ramen the meal overall was good. The mini ikura and rice was a nice light addition and ramen broth was spicy but would probably go mild spicy personally. The service was very attentive as staff always came around to top off my water. The restaurant was clean and tidy. I would recommend and come here again.

Really good ramen place in Seafair. I had the spicy miso ramen, and it was properly spicy. The beef tataki was likewise very good, as was the chicken karage. Not much seating, so be sure to come before 7pm if you don't want to wait.
