Love their hot pot. I love eating hot and spicy food and a beef eater so Boiling Point is exactly "my cup of tea". Their mango slush is a perfect match.
Good place for some mini pot!
Been here once and were pleased with the food. We enjoy eating hot pot and this chain restaurant has been our go-to hot pot place for a while now.
Expect some line up at this location as the seating is limited compared to the other locations.
One of my to go restuarants, always so good. I suggest going there for lunch cause it's ususlly cheaper and you get a free drink! I got the korean hotpot and it was super delicious 😍 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tasty level: 10/10
Price: $12
Will I go again: ofc!!
Went to Boiling Point for what must be the 7th time. Every time I go, I try something new. They only have 10 different flavors, and the only ones I haven’t had are the Beef, Veggie Tomato, and the Curry Fishball, so I must’ve been there 7 times. Today was the 7th, and I had their Taiwanese Spicy Hot Soup:
At first I wasn't sure if coming here during summer would be a good idea, but it turns out it was! I had late night cravings and we got here at about 10:15pm. There was one guy server who was super nice and attentive.
The hot pot was good as always and even though we shared a pot between two people, we both ended up really full. Though I suppose we weren't hungry to begin with. Love the chilli bean sauce they provide at every table.
Last time I was here, I had to wait almost an hour to get a seat. If you come later in the night, I guess there's zero wait time since we got seated instantly!
Boiling Point is located right on No3 Road, in a strip mall just across from the Superstore. No 3 Road is usually busy on the weekends but this strip mall was relatively quiet for a Sunday late morning. We got here at about 11:30pm and the restaurant was almost full. There were still some empty tables so we were seated right away.
perfect date in richmond! their portion for an individual hot pot is very filling too. and the price for what i got was pretty cheap plus it comes with a drink. the ambience was okay but the whole store smelled like gas, im assuming they use gas to cook their hot pot.
This place had the best hot pot I've ever had. I tried the beef hot soup and made it very spicy. It was just the right amount of spice for me. Keep in mind though, when you're going to a restaurant like this you're not going for the service. We did have to flag down a server whenever we needed something but they were always ready to help.
Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 Price: Avg.$15/person
Return: Yes! Must try item(s): Seafood Hotpot
I think this is a perfect place for a couple to dine out in Richmond. Why? They serve in a good portion of a mini hotpot size for 1 or 2 people. And somewhat that is why you might noticed there is always a long line up at the front door. Tips: If this is your first time to try their hotpot, I would suggest to try their sauces as well. Sometimes the servers might incidentally take them away from your table, because the sauces are gone fast. There are 3 signature home made sauces, and they are Garlic sauce, Hot sauce, and Chili sauce. Last time, when I was there the taste of the garlic sauce was still super good, and the after taste was long last the whole night long. The hot sauce was good too but not as good as the chili sauce in my point of view. Those are the 3 most popular sauces from the grand opening til now, I think it's been like 6 years already. I still remembered they used to put those 3 sauces in individual large bucket on the side wall for self-serve, since it was so popular, they serve on every table, and also became one of the must try items in this hotpot restaurant.
A different kind of hot pot style. This Taiwanese style hot pot features an individual mini hot pot with a big portion. The place is not big and has long wait times if during a busy time. The food is flavourful with a heavy broth and you can order additional items in your pot like noodles and side dishes.
Great place! I like how they have individual hot pots and bigger ones that you can share. Can get pretty pricey with all the add ons but portions are ok. Food was pretty good. Service was amazing and very attentive. Make sure you make reservations, this place was packed on a Thursday night!
My favourite hot pot/soup place, I have tried almost all the soup flavours and have never been disappointed! My go-to soup would be the Beef soup if I am indecisive. The Curry soup is undrinkable to me because of how spicy it is, but the flavour goes great with rice and I can eat an extra bowl with it. The Japanese Miso is my second favourite, the soup is delicious and so are everything in it! These are my top 3 :) The service is okay but nothing to complain about. There are also add-ons to your soup and they are quit reasonably priced. Haven't tried their ice cream yet but one day I will!
Good mini hot pot place. Me and my wife both enjoy their perfectly sized personal hot pot. They have reduced priced beverages on every Tues and Wed which makes it a better deal.
Not Bad. Would be Great if the customer is Better.. The food is not bad. Love the sauce especially. Dessert and drinks are just ok. Also, the service is not great. Server seems tired and not happy.
Personally I do like this restaurant, not just because it's stinky tofu, but it's personal size pot, I like hot pots, but not all you can eat type if hot pots and also I don't like the way how people dig into the same pot, so I choose this restaurant, I don't have to think wut I should add into my pot, cuz every pot already come with many different ingredients, the service is really getting better compare to many years back then,I want to give all the servers a thumbs up,ignore what others said, at least I do enjoy the service i got when I vist the store.^_^
GREAT food and Service. I went there couple times with friends and one of the biggest fan is my friend's teenager son. He loves it so much that we keep go back every week. The food was great and the sauce is amazing. The portion is perfect for me and my friends. We order extra meat for my friends' son who happened to eat a lot right now and just a extra order of meat is perfect for him. The service is good and we look forward to go back soon !
I absolutely love the restaurant! The food was just extraordinary. I was there on Friday for dinner, they had a very busy day, but they were still able to provide us with good service. Especially the manager, he was extremely friendly and provided us with exceptional service. I recommend ppl to really try out this restaurant :) it's so unique and taste yum!
Despite the awkward service, the food was quite delicious without the sauces they provide. Might return during the winter season.
Nice food for good price. Large verity of food in a small personal hotpot and very good price (25 overall for 2 people). The iced tea comes with the combo is a nice touch. They messed up my order with table next to me but it's my first visit I am open to try every pot. But they have above average chinese resturant attitude to apologize for they mistakes.
Good price vs quality. Had dinner today (Monday), quite busy even at 730pm. Waited for five minutes which I have been told is short wait. Price is very inexpensive at 10.99 or 13.9 depending on the combo you are seeking. Lunch is average 3 dollars cheaper with drinks included. Considering the fact that it cost 8 bucks for a mcdonalds combo I'd say this place is at a bargain, really! They also have vetegarian dish as well.
Portion: I consider it average. I am a guy with big appetite. If I go to mcdonalds / KFC I order 2 combos (regular size) to fill my stomach. So what I consider as a decent size may be large portion for others. I was not completely full after the meal, but I cant really argue that it is small portion either. I'd say fair.
Service: average to below average. You going to have to put in perspective for this one. Keep in mind that the servers are all chinese people that are from mainland China. Stereo-typically speaking they are more introvert and shy, english is not really a dominant language in their social circle despite being in Canada (it is Richmond, you dont need to speak english in that area). The point is they are not average Canadians, you cannot expect them to joke around with you (regardless of language) or come around to check if you are okay. You cannot expect to have the same TYPE of serivce you would get from a western restaurant. When I go to a chinese restaurant, my expectations are: get my order right, when you bring my order it better be hot, no mistakes made on any of the orders at the table, fill my water/tea when empty. With that, I consider okay service.
The only thing I strongly dislike was they used Styrofoam cups when serving water. Not really environmental friendly.
My favourite individual hot pot place. We`ve been here many times (for lunch & dinner) - 10+ times. We order pretty much the same thing - the House Special Hot Pot with the stinky tofu. Broth is flavourful, but not too salty. Each pot comes with a bowl of rice. We usually come at lunch time because each pot comes with a drink (only green or black tea) and is a dollar cheaper. The amount of food in the pot is a pretty generous. Although some people may complain about the 3-4 thin slices of meat being too little. We like how they have the many stages of spice to cater to different people with different spice tolerance (tiny, mild, med, ---super, etc.) One of the main stars of this place is definitely the awesome sauce that you go up and scoop yourself (spicy garlic bean paste and the garlic soy sauce). We dip everything in the pot with it. Finally, this place have stamp cards for their drinks and hot pots (collect 10 for a free one on your next visit).
Forget the Bobby wings! I love spicy food and this stuff is HOT. I ordered their spiciest hotpot with EXTRA spice. No need to say, my mouth was on fire. It was great and they offer stamp cards as well. Free hotpot after 10? Same with their drinks (which was really good as well)
Pretty decent cheap hot pot if you’re not going with a huge party.
Can’t go wrong coming on a Tuesday either, usually there’s no line up.
Service is a tad slow on the hot pot, so be patient.

I ended up ordering the curry hot soup. On the menu you can see what’s on the soup. It has Nappa, Vermicelli, Pork Sliced, Enoki Mushroom, Imitation Crabstick, Kamaboko, Fishball, Fired Tofu Skin, Corn, Tempura, Mountain Yam, Chinese String Bean. Rice bowl is included. It was served with the mini stove and the soup was really boiling smoke was everywhere. Fishball and curry will always be a perfect match! Soup was spicy and the portion of it was very satisfying. Better make sure you have a tissue napkin with you when you eat this Mr. Sweaty might come out. A total YUM for me! Price was very reasonable too.
Overall, good place to dine at. Service can be a bit slow, or even nonexistent since there’s not much for them to do after they take and deliver your order. In terms of cleanliness, it’s pretty spotless, aside from the random fruit flies that came midway through our meal. We still continued to enjoy ourselves after they were shooed away. Like always, especially with all these add-ons, we still had enough to take home. You can also ask them to add more soup for you, free of charge.
They also have those loyalty stamp cards where you receive one stamp for each hot pot, and a free one on your 10th stamp. Not to mention their little candies that come with the bill. It’s like a hard, clear honey type candy, with those Chinese dried plums inside. Yums. I’ve made it my goal to try their different soup bases at least once, least their more interesting ones, so hopefully there will be an update to this post in the near future.
One summer day, my friends and I made our way to Boiling Point in Richmond. Had I been aware of their other location in Burnaby, I would've suggested going there instead (oops!). For myself, I ordered #10 on the menu, the Thai Flavor Hot Soup ($15.99). This consisted of cabbage, taro stem, sliced pork, enoki and maitake mushroom, cuttlefish, foochow fishball, clam, crab and calamari. I was pretty satisfied with the broth and content of the hot pot, although I didn't even bother attempting to crack open the skinny piece of crab to pick at the teeny amount of meat. I would also note that the hot pots have a substantial amount of filler veggies compared to the actual "meat" content that is suppose to come with the pots. All the hot pots come with a bowl of rice but I also ordered a side of udon to accompany my meal. Overall, I enjoyed my meal at Boiling Point but would I be returning any time soon? Most likely not. Personally, I've realized that individual hot pot places such as Boiling
I found that their portions were good and the meat was layed out in a way that it covered the pot, right below all the contents. This was supposed to be "super spicy" but it was just "warm spicy." Not spicy enough for Buddha Girl or me. I still like "ma-la" (numbing spicy) hot pot best.
...a hotpot restaurant whose main attraction was ... Stinky Tofu! Stinky tofu is one of my absolute favorite foods but unfortunately very hard to come by in Vancouver. Now with Boiling Point, I don't have to wait until the summer night market to get my fix!
Similar to my last visit, their lunch is actually a better deal than their dinner. For $9.99, the lunch special comes with a hot pot, rice, and choice of iced red or jasmine tea. During dinner hours though, they offer only the hot pot and rice for $10.99 -- that's without the drink. There has been a price increase since the last visit, but things like these are inevitable.
Belinda and I decided to meet up for dinner. I had been reading reviews on Boiling Point from FFB and decided that I wanted to try it out as well! Unfortunately, we ended up heading over there during dinner so we didn't get a drink included with our meal. Boiling Point #130-4800 #3 Rd, Richmond BC Tel#: (604) 284-5168 I had never been to this plaza before, so this was a new experience for me. Judging from the outside, I wasn't expecting much of the inside decor. I was pleasantly surprised, it felt like a regular bubbletea place. One of the things I enjoyed here was the self serve sauce station. For those of you who drink your sauce(like Marv does), you'll like this option here as well. There wasn't a huge variety to choose from, but it was sufficient for the meal. Belinda decided to get the regular Milk Tea and I went with their Pudding Milk Tea with Pearls. The drinks were quite tasty, it wasn't watered down. For our pots, Belinda went with
Stuck for dinner, I called out Jeff and Caitlin and we went to Boiling Point . Problem was, it was late July and it was stinkin' hot already. Wise choice I made, going to a hot pot place with no AC inside. With each hot pot, you're given a choice of 5 levels of spiciness, ranging from none to very spicy. Dinner is $9.99 and includes a bowl of rice. Lunch is a better option as it's $8.99, and comes with a drink ! Jeff ordered the Kimchi pot, and it seemed to offer the most out of the 3 different pots we ordered. Caitlin had the lamb, but really it was Jeff that ate it as she barely touched any of it. For myself, I had to order the House Special, which is made with Stinky Tofu. The metal bowl itself is a little deceptive as it's shallower than I thought, but there was still a fair amount of stuff. I chose medium spicy, and although it was a bearable spice level, it was the heat coming from outside and the lack of A/C that forced me to take a while
