Some of my foodie friends are split on this place, but I wanted to try it out for myself. The food was fine. I had the beef noodle soup, which comes with plenty of tender chunks of beef, good portion size. The order of popcorn chicken was pretty big as well for a decent price. The food was solid and I would go back to try other stuff and bubble tea.
Based on my recent visits there, they have been good. Service was attentive and very friendly, especially from the taller gentleman. Beef noodle was tasty, as well as the deep fried chicken dishes. The meat sauce noodle dish could be better- it is a bit bland and needs more flavor.
Would go back because of the friendly, quick service, and no waiting time for seats!
I was driving down the street one day and stumbled upon a beef noodle house in Vancouver. Craving that Taiwanese beef noodle soup I decided to give this place a try. The presentation was not to disappoint as my dish had 4 pieces of beef with the right amount of tendon, picked cabbage, thick noodles and 2 pieces of bok choy. I thought nothing of it at first but the dish consistency probably brings repeat customers. The soup flavor was okay and a bit overpowering but kudos to the noodles as they are freshly made and hand pulled. Prices for a bowl of beef noodle soup are around 10 dollars a bowl.
Food is quite decent here with average prices and decent portions. I would say the food gets most of this rating as the service is not too great.
Beef and tendon noodles was delish. Thick noodles were soft but nice and chewy to the bite. Soup was flavourful. Beef could have been a little softer but the tendons were soft and tender.
Chicken nuggets came out fresh, hot and crispy with just the right amount of flavour..not too salty.
Marinated egg was also tasty. Was like an almost light teri-garlic sauce.
Service - it wasn't all that bad but not the friendliest of service either. Tea was never topped up and not even a smile.
Also can get a little hot in the restaurant. They need to crank the AC a bit.

I've been here a lot before because I keep coming back for its Special Beef Noodle Soup, the staple food item I think that best represents the restaurant's Taiwanese specialty.

The waitresses didn't get our order wrong or anything, but it feels like they don't like their job or can't seem to care enough to look and acknowledge the person that's ordering the food. 😒
The majority speak Mandarin and English and some speak Cantonese as well.
These two dishes are what I always order when I go, give them a try!
I came to Newton Beef Noodles looking for some quality beef noodles. It’s really close to the Richmond Brighouse sky train station which is very convenient. Tender beefy chunks, al dente noodles and a thick luscious broth is exactly what I need right now.
Food was really good. If you're into spicy food order the wonton in chilli oil! The green pancake is good but be ready for a bit of grease. Popcorn chicken is very similar to chicken karage, really good with a little hot sauce on the side!
My favourite new place! Their dumplings are the bomb :) and service was great. The only thing I didn't like was having to pay for street parking.
Being our first time stumbling into this restaurant, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. We had the Special Beef Noodle, trying both thick and thin noodles. The beef soup was flavorful with a mild spice, but left me slightly parched. The thick noodles had a good bite to it, though, and the beef shank was sufficiently tender. I tried a bit of the thin noodles as well, which were a bit more tender and had a hint of sesame oil in it. We also got the iconic Popcorn Chicken, which was not too oily but was plenty juicy. Overall portion size was generous, but we did end up spending about $15/person with tips and sharing a drink. Service was attentive as it was near closing time for them,
Excellent Taiwanese Beef Noodles. the broth showed depth of flavour and the noodles were springy. I would recommend ordering this dish here. It tastes very similar to the beef noodles I had in Taipei.
I really like their appetizer, 5/5 for the appetizer. As for the beef noodle soup, I feel like the broth is not as flavorful as others that I’ve had before. 4/5 for the beef noodle soup. Noodle is good, the only missing part is the broth.
Taiwanese spicy beef noodle (thick noodle) is a must try. It is small and decent restaurant with positive vibes. Great for warming up in a rainy day.
The thin noodle for the fried chicken was over cooked and too soggy, soup and taste were blend. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy. Lots of noodles for the fried chicken noodle, perhaps too much noodles.
Beef noodle was good and decent.
Took 30mins for the two bowls to show up during lunch hours on a week day.
Update: just took a bite of the tendon and the underside was burnt.... Now my mouth taste like charcoal.. 🙄
I come here all the time. The food is consistently good. The spicy seaweed and cucumber are my favorite appetizers so far. The chive cakes are quite good and my favourite of the restaurant is still the noodles. I love their half beef half tendon spicy noodles (must get thick noodles!), I eat that every single time so I tried the dry mixed noodles with minced pork this time and it's definitely delicious. I've also tried their beef noodle and noodles with wonton. If you like beef noodles, you must try this place!
The taste of the beef noodle soup is average but the staff and the cleanliness increase the rating to 4 stars. We had the #1 house special beef noodle soup and the #6 spicy beef and tendon noodle soup and I can't say it was better or different than any other place. The service is very good -- I don't think you can find nicer waiters anywhere else. The washrooms are immaculate as well. I will go back to try some of their other food. I would recommend if you're not picky with your Taiwanese beef noodle soup
