Just had the most amazing dinner!!!! Celebrating a special occasion had the best service love the atmosphere and the food was so so so good!!!
Wonderful! The food was terrific and well priced, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Will definitely go again
Was looking around for an Indian restaurant and Zomato saved me again. Do not expect a great ambience. Just okay. But the food is really good. Their naan is very soft and almost melts in the mouth. We had the vegetarian thaali for lunch. Portions were good enough. Not too stingy nor too much that goes waste. Taste of the Subzi and Dhaal were good. Missed some raitha in the thaali. The salad was too western for our taste.
Overall a good simple restaurant giving value for money. Visited again for dinner and wasn't disappointed with char ki dhal.
What a restaurant! Portions are plentiful, prices are very reasonable and overall, if you have a "hankering" for some quality Indian cuisine, you will be more than satisfied with the value Ginger Indian cuisine has to offer.
Felt like eating indian food today so a friend recommended to go to this place. It was super delicious and definitely didn't let me down. The portions are pretty big and you can decide on the spiciness of the dish!

Tasty level: 10/10
Price: $$
Will I go again: 10/10
One of the best Indian restaurants in town. Their Garlic Breads are so great. I could not find any similar ones in other restaurants.
Today I tried my all time favorite Subz Korma with Garlic Naan and Dahi (Yogurt) and it was just perfect.
The food is extremely fresh and the quantity is very generous - that's what me and my family love about this restaurant. The lamb rogan josh is always ordered. According to my Dad, the meat just melts in your mouth. Expect a 20-25 waiting time, but it's worth it.
Our top picks:
* Lamb rogan josh
* Chili chicken
* Fish pakoras
Nice little (and clean) restaurant in Richmond at the corner off Bridgeport and Beckman. Lots of parking in this tiny strip mall. Excellent food. My favourite is the lamb korma! Comes with naan and rice. The sauce is to die for. Staff is friendly although service can be slow at times. Well worth the wait.
The last time my daughters took me for lunch, we went to the Smokehouse Sandwich Co. which turned out to be a great experience. For sandwiches. This time, it was to Ginger Indian Cuisine, found in an odd location near No. 4 Road and Bridgeport in Richmond. Ginger is located in a strip mall that also includes a barbecue dealer and a private liquor store and if you judge a book by its cover, this place might not appeal. That would be a mistake.
Favorite casual indian. Ginger cuisine always hits the spot. Lunch time favorite is the butterchicken wrap, and a samosa chaat. Definitely recommend trying this place if you're nearby. Friendly staff too!
Entrees came with naan and rice. Fish Pakora (fish pieces deep fried with chickpeas batter and served with mint chutney) $10 3/5- I don't know if they gave me the wrong sauce. We got the tartar sauce instead of tamarind chutney. They were more like a fish and chips with indian spices. They were on the cold side when we got home so I decided to dip them in the butter chicken. Surprisingly went well!
Butter Makhani (tender tandoori pieces simmered in a rich creamy tomato sauce with dried fenugreek, slightly tangy with a hunt of honey) $11 3.5/5 - traditional butter chicken
Veggie Korma (milk dish with coconut milk, cream, ground cashew nuts subtly spiced with a touch of sweetness) $12.5 4/5 - They charge the same if you veggie or meat. My friend said this was better than the butter chicken. There were only green peppers and frozen vegetables (carrots, corn, and peas). I was expecting cauliflowers.
Naan $1.5 4/5 - thicker and not too crispy on the top, felt more like a bread. I liked them better than the think crispy ones (esp they harden when they get cold)
Basmati Rice $1.5 3/5 - It came with our entree. I found them a little too dry but nothing much to complain when it's free.
The place is smaller than what I expect. There were 7 tables only. The lady on the phone suggested the fish pakora for appies but I don't think I will order this again. We ordered medium but they were not that spicy. I would say lower than what's out there (still able to taste the heat). Food were okay and I really liked how it came with naan and rice. I also liked how they use plastic containers instead of aluminum foil ones. They trapped the heat better and less chances of spoilage. Too bad they don't open on Sun and lunch on Saturdays.
This has been my "go-to"! I visit richmond for work and this place has been my delicacy/staple. Everything I have tried has been super tasty and complex flavours. The tandoori chicken is absolutely amazing!
If you have never been...get there!
Was recently introduced to this place... can't believe it's taken me so long to try it out! Had mainly done take out, but I dined in recently and it was great. The servings are generous and the food was extra fresh. Will definitely be coming back. Great service too.
I’ve only been here for lunch a few times but I always leave being completely stuffed and extremely satisfied. The lunch special for $13 is plenty and reasonable considering the cost of food nowadays. Definitely requires at least a monthly lunch visit. Nice interior and quiet. Great for an enjoyable lunch with a friend.
Ordered a vege samosa, curry goat and garlic naan.
Vege samosa is the highlight here, the sauce is great but it can be better if the crust become more crispy.
Naan is good and very cheap, garlic flavor is moderately added.
Curry goat is a little bit disappointing, too much spice and too much oil/fat. The meat itself are 1/2 overcook and hard to bite. I think it’s due to the part of meat they choose, it’s half all lean others contain proper fat.
Considering the price, pretty overpriced and not worth it. But considering that there’s not much Indian food in Richmond, 4 stars
Good quantity and tasty food.
Friendly staff.
Best for family.
Enough parking facility.
Restaurants and washroom were clean
Peaceful music (instrumental)
Sizable subjis
Chaat Papadi was tasty
Palak paneer 😋😋😋
Food - 5/5
Staff -5/5
Timing open - 3/5 lol
I visited there for about 2 weeks. All visits were awesome and worth.
Buttermilk was awesome too.
Overall very good experience
Stable quality of food. I prefer take out. The portions are bigger than dine in.
Plus the servers were not friendly in the restaurant. They didn't even say hello or greeting. No smile on their faces. 5 stars for the food. 1 star for the server.
Meat lovers lunch special, $12.50. Portions are large and tasty. Naan bread is delicious! The curries are the always the same - wish you are able to pick different curry instead (its always butter chicken).
Friendly servers. Decent portions and at reasonable prices. Taste good.
