Having Pajo's famous fish and chips w sriracha sauce and ketchup while watching the sun set at Stevenson. The seating is right outside the beach area.
Locally-renowned fish and chips joint. Quality of the fish is excellent which is as to be expected from a restaurant so close to Steveston's waterfront. Garry Point location is beautiful, especially in the summer time. Only criticisms I can really make are the prices here are a tad pricey, the fries could be better and I wish they were more generous with their tartar sauce portions.
It's hard to miss this very popular fish and chips joint right by the dock when visiting Steveston Village. An all time favorite, the fish and chips are a staple and nobody can dispute their freshness and tastiness! Definitely a must if you find yourself in that part of town. Of course, it gets BUSY on a nice sunny day, but it's always worth the wait and the service is speedy!
A popular area for tourists and yes, I would recommend this place to snack on, share that is. I wouldn't have a full meal to myself since there's tons of food places here. We went for the classic cod fish and chips. You can tell their oil is consistently clean. Fresh fish, moderate light batter, crispy fries... And that lemon to cut the fat on the fish batter.. Lovely. Lots of seating here. The tables have cone holders too haha. Very DOG friendly here which I love. Nothing like a sunny day with your furry friend here enjoying some fish :-)
Really flaky fish and fast service! I like how they give you a carrying tray to bring to the tables. Not really a fan of the chips but the portion is big.
Defiantly my fav summertime spot. Bike rides and pajos always go extremely well together! I always go for the fully loaded dog but it's know for being the best fish and chips in town! And the tartar sauce is to die for
I came here during the weekend for lunch and holy smokes.. the line up was super long! I ordered a large ( ling cod + fries). The fish was delicious but I wasn't a huge fan of their fries because they were quite burnt.
I visit Pajo's often and every time I do, it seems like the fish pieces gets smaller and smaller! What's up with that?! Not impressed.
Have been a regular customer for years. Love the fish and chips! However recently they changed something about the fries - maybe a different potato or oil. Fries have been kind of gross and bright white instead of "yellow".
Pretty decent. I had the kid's sized salmon fish and chips on a bright and sunny Sunday. The batter was light and crunchy, although a bit greasy (it is deep fried, so what did I expect :p ). The fish itself was fresh, not overcooked, and fairly enjoyable. I wish the tartar sauce and fries had more flavour though.
The prices are a bit steep, but I liked that they used wild salmon. The line ups are also a bit intimidating at times, but I thought the wait time was reasonable for the number of people.
GOOD Fish + Chips. Consistently the BEST fish + chips in Steveston and interesting people-watching 2 boot. Line-ups (on sunny days + especially weekends) are sometimes scary - but their efficiency & simple menu moves quickly.
LIKE that they give U a 1/2 pc xtra fish (eg 1 pc = 1.5 etc). Good batter & hand chipped fries. WAY better than all the others in Steveston (trust me - I've tried them all)
Not too heavy. Just right. Normally fish and chips makes me feel like a grease ball but Pajo has got it right : moist halibut lightly covered with batter; the chips were okay though.
Legen - wait for it - dary! LEGENDARY!!!. This fish came straight from God's aquarium and wound up in my belly. It was AMAZING and the batter was light and fresh, not oily at all. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is in the need for great food!

Very happy to find out there's an only fish option, so we got a Small Fish Only- Halibut ($7.99). It included 1 and 1/2 pieces of fish, but in the end, it looked more like three pieces of fish =D Oh well, just lemoned them up and they were DELICIOUS. So crispy and fresh, we LOVED them. Totally satisfied our fish & chips craving!!
Pajo's has been an all time favorite fish and chips destination for people in Vancouver for many years. You know the fish and chips you get are always fresh because of they huge line up and they are constantly expanding. Unlike more fish and chips places, I find that Pajo's not only makes great "Fish" but they also make great fries. Many other fish and chips places that I have been don't put much focus on their fries and are soggy.... equals to no good. The one downfall I find with Pajo's is the limited seating. Although they seem to always be expanding, there is never enough seating. Even if you are lucky enough to find seating, chances are 90% of the time it would be in the blazing sun. But I love it enough to go back again and again :) by Cho
Pajo’s fish and chips is something of an institution. One of the popular fish & chip stands in the city. We went down to Steveston, specifically for lunch, and wandered around the pier before reaching the Pajo’s on the wharf. But staring at a 30-40 minute line up, we opted to walk 5 minutes over to the Pajo’s at Garry Point park. There are still line ups, but generally much shorter. We ordered the two piece cod and chips, with a small side of coleslaw. It comes with a small cup of tartar sauce. The coleslaw is okay, not anything noteworthy, but I really felt I needed the roughage. The chips are excellent. Hot crisp, freshly chipped, but unsalted. You have to add your own salt, which Pajo’s makes readily available (along with pepper, malt vinegar, and lemon slices). The fish is terrific. It’s moist and warm, with a very light cris
Most visitors to Steveston know of Pajo’s on the Steveston Wharf . It’s hard to miss the bright yellow umbrellas and the droves of customers lining up for freshly fried seafood. What you might not know is that only a few blocks over in the nearby Garry Point Park is another Pajo’s location. Garry Point makes for a nice walk after enjoying
If there's no line up, this place is awesome. On a hot sunny day during the weekend, this place is a nightmare. Expect the wait time to order to be around 15 to 20 minutes, then about another 10 minutes or so to pick up your order. I suppose that's on par
The Vancouver DCP crew make their way to Garry Point Park in Steveston to have some great fish and chips... The Garry Point location had much shorter waits than the Steveston Wharf location the crew visited last summer.
