We were looking something different in Mediterranean cuisine and came across Sofra. Restaurant has very good ambience and staff is good too. I have never tried red eggplant gravy in a fallafal sandwich or green eggplant. This place surprise me with new cold appetizers that could be tried with falafal sandwich. We had it on laffa and tasted pretty authentic and it was huge. I was full towards the end of sandwich and truly one is more than enough for lunch or dinner. Loved this place and would recommend.

Tonight we were in the mood for Middle Eastern food for dinner. We had been to this Sofra location before, and we thought it would be worth a second visit. The restaurant was almost full, and we were able to get a table.
We knew the portions here are fairly large, so we did not order an appetizer. Both of the dinners we ordered came with a side salad, which was a nice mix of lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and grated carrot. The dressing is interesting; light and foamy, with a hint of citrus.
SWMBO selected the Chicken Schnitzel and upgraded her side to Sweet Potato Fries. The schnitzel portions are large. The start with a good size chicken breast, butterfly it, bread it, and deep fry it, and then sprinkle some sesame seeds. The result is tender chicken, with a crunchy coating; enough to satisfy most hearty appetites. I helped SWMBO finish hers. :)
I opted for the Falafel Plate, with a side of Grilled Vegetables. They were pretty heavy with the garlic on the vegetables, and I like it that way. The six falafel balls were very good. Good size, good texture (crispy on the outside, soft on the inside), good flavour.
Our server was also good, checking in on us a few times, and refilling water without asking.
Ordered take out and enjoyed the food very much! The portions were very generous, nothing overly salty and the the meat was very juicy, nothing was overcooked. Our dishes included the beef skewers with a side of garlic potatoes (which were very well roasted and very garlicky) and the chicken schwarma dinner with sweet potato fries. Their house salad was also very good with a refreshing salad dressing (it seems a bit thick but it goes well on the salad). Highly recommend.
