What a lovely spot for breakfast! I was in the mood for a hearty dish, and they delivered...all neatly wrapped up in a delicious crepe! The Big Breakfast had eggs, beans, bacon and all the flavour goodness you’d expect from a dish with that name (including a drizzle of local maple syrup on top - which gave it a zing). My dining partner had the veggie crepe with fresh asparagus topped with a balsamic reduction.
Service was friendly and impressive since only one server was on duty at that time (and it being Canada Day weekend, it was busy)! I would definitely go back again.

When you think of Port Dover you think of perch. However, after trying The Crepe House recently I might think otherwise. I went here with a few friends before going to the Lighthouse Theater ( which is only a block away)
Atmosphere- It is a bright yellow house situated next to Park on the Main St. A lot of tables outside on the patio. Our reservations were waiting for us inside ( no air conditioning with the heat we have been having) It would have been stifling. Luckily they found us a shady spot outside. There it was heavenly. A cool breeze passed through to cool us ever slightly throughout the meal.
Food- Started with the Mediterranean Salad and the Crepe House salad- There was only 1 Mediterranean salad left ( at 5 pm) It was the special of the day. Another special i immediately wanted to try was the dessert crepe- caramelized peaches with pecans and maple syrup - This ad a SOLD OUT written on it before our salads were eaten. The crepes everyone agreed were outstanding in flavour and size. We had the following: 1) Lakeside- chicken, feta, onions, cucumbers with a red pepper sauce. Reports were very positive. 2) Mr. Bean- Full of beans ( maybe too full ) Nice flavour especially with the red pepper sauce mixed with sour cream. 3) a breakfast one with a sunny side egg, bacon, potatoes and onions. My friend reported that it was very filling and tasty. The egg yolk added so much to the dish. 4) I had the perogy crepe- I liked it better than I like perogies. This crepe was filled with cheese, potato, bacon, and it was topped with sour cream and spring onions. Wow! It really was delish. One thing to note- The sweetened ice tea was far too sugary. Ask for an extra glass of water to keep diluting drink or get unsweetened and add your own sugar. We couldn't fit a dessert crepe after dinner but we did go back after our play to share them. These are big enough to share and still be full. We had mixed berry with lemon curd crepes. Again. Outstanding. The sweet with tart combination works wonderfully.
Service- Great. Our servers on both occasions were friendly, quick, and efficient in getting bills to us.
Impression- I will be back with friends and family soon. I think they need to anticipate the preferences of customers better to allow specials to last longer in the day. That peach crepe sounded absolutely divine and I would have preferred it to the crepe I did have. How much ingredients would go bad to have a little more salad fixings to keep salad of the day going as well. Also, The seafood crepes her had scallops. It is Port Dover after all. Why not have one with perch?
Something about crepes and coffee on a patio. Always enjoy visiting here when I'm home. The service is always great and I love the variety of the menu.
