The food was delicious and came quickly. Staff were friendly and courteous - helpful without being pesty! We enjoyed the Lake Erie Perch Sliders as our appetizer, which were delicious. My husband had the fettuccine and I had the steak. It was very tasty and filling without being too much food. After dinner, we finished off with the cannoli and lattes. The restaurant isn't huge, just a nice size. It was a bit loud once it filled up, but that likely depends on which patrons are in attendance! It's not the cheapest restaurant, but also not too pricey. If you're eating here, you're looking for a nice meal, not a cheap, mass-produced roadhouse meal! Lago Trattoria is located in a historic building on Main Street Port Dover, which used to be a hotel. It's been set up to be accessible to clients who are using a wheelchair, as it has a "roll-ramp", which is a lovely sign to see posted on the front door of a shop! I'd definitely recommend it to a friend as a great place to go for nice meal somewhere away from the typical restaurant options in Hamilton!

We had the penne pasta chicken, carbonara shrimp and funghi pizza. Surprisingly delicious! Pleasant ambiance, good service and the price was just right. We sat outside under colorful umbrellas! Definitely my favorite dining place in Port Dover!

Before you read this whole review, I must state that I do recommend this place. We do have our reservations about the establishment, so please read further. We were greeted at the door by several friendly servers. Unfortunately, seats were open but due to reservations we had to take a spot at the bar. So make a reservation if you want a table. The servers were fast and efficient, and informed us of the daily specials. The appetizer was great (we got the Arancini) although it would have been even better with a couple more on the plate. The restaurant was filling up as we ordered our mains, so they took a little bit longer than we anticipated. But when they arrived, we were pleasantly impressed with the quality of the food. Everything was rich and full of flavour, which made our wait worth the while. Our server asked if we were interested in desserts but we politely declined because our bellies were full. Overall, give this place a shot! Great classic Italian food with a neat spin.
