If you love authentic Mexican cuisine, La Mesita is the place to go! We had the 2 can dine special of 4 tacos and soup of the day. Followed by one of the best cupcakes I have ever eaten! Everything was so fresh and delicious. We brought home corn tortillas, pico, habanero pickled onions and the Chipotle maple cream cheese.....these 3 items will be a staple in our fridge from now on. We can't wait to come back!

La Mesita is a gem in the heart of Peterborough's downtown! With a limited but expanding menu, you can taste the care that Martin takes in creating each one of his dishes. This resteraunt fills the need for authentic Mexican cuisine in a casual quick eats setting. There is a small amount of seating for eat-in dining available and the atmosphere in the restaurant is so welcoming you really want to stay. I cannot reccomend this place enough!

We had an amazing experience here. The owners of the restaurant is a really jolly chap and the tacos we were served were absolutely delicious. We will definitely visit again if we are in town. We wanted to try their Mayan cupcakes but looks like they are heavily in demand and they were out of those two of the days I tried. Try the pulled pork tacos, they were our favorites. This place has a bunch of vegetarian options too.

Certified Masarap (Filipino word for delicious!)! We really enjoyed the tacos and quesadillas here. Truly authentic Mexican food! Went here before heading back to Toronto. This is where I found my new fave drink, the Jarritos Mandarin! Will come back again soon! 💜🌮🌯

The food here is delicious, the owner was very nice and made us feel welcome, the chef was so helpful in finding the right heat that I wanted for my fajitas. I had the fajitas and my wife had the vegetarian (corn and black bean) taco, she loved it. All the food was so fresh and the staff is so enthusiastic. We really enjoyed the experience and will be a returning customer.

This might be the best food I’ve ever consumed. I can’t remember the name of who served me but I believe it was Martinez or something. Nicest man ever. He served me my food in less than 5 minutes and told me about each part of the dish, what it contained and how spicy it was. Super authentic place. Please go check it out and try the pork taco. You won’t regret it.

Wow! Best mexican food we've had in Canada. We tasted 3 salsas and none were tomato based. I almost cried! Yes Canada... Salsa is not all made from tomatoes. Their spicy salsa was onion based and was an experience in itself. I had the enchiladas and my wife the tacos. Everything was incredible.

Service was fantastic, Martin is very friendly and has so many good stories. We ordered 3 dishes and they were all delicious and made so fast! Martin even told me that their meats and tortillas are gluten free! Bonus for those of you who don’t eat gluten. Pics of the meal attached but they REALLY don’t compare to how good it really is.
