We had an amazing experience here. The owners of the restaurant is a really jolly chap and the tacos we were served were absolutely delicious.
We will definitely visit again if we are in town. We wanted to try their Mayan cupcakes but looks like they are heavily in demand and they were out of those two of the days I tried.
Try the pulled pork tacos, they were our favorites. This place has a bunch of vegetarian options too.

Certified Masarap (Filipino word for delicious!)! We really enjoyed the tacos and quesadillas here. Truly authentic Mexican food! Went here before heading back to Toronto. This is where I found my new fave drink, the Jarritos Mandarin! Will come back again soon! 💜🌮🌯

The food here is delicious, the owner was very nice and made us feel welcome, the chef was so helpful in finding the right heat that I wanted for my fajitas. I had the fajitas and my wife had the vegetarian (corn and black bean) taco, she loved it. All the food was so fresh and the staff is so enthusiastic. We really enjoyed the experience and will be a returning customer.

This might be the best food I’ve ever consumed. I can’t remember the name of who served me but I believe it was Martinez or something. Nicest man ever. He served me my food in less than 5 minutes and told me about each part of the dish, what it contained and how spicy it was.
Super authentic place. Please go check it out and try the pork taco. You won’t regret it.

Wow! Best mexican food we've had in Canada. We tasted 3 salsas and none were tomato based. I almost cried! Yes Canada... Salsa is not all made from tomatoes. Their spicy salsa was onion based and was an experience in itself. I had the enchiladas and my wife the tacos. Everything was incredible.

Martin even told me that their meats and tortillas are gluten free! Bonus for those of you who don’t eat gluten. Pics of the meal attached but they REALLY don’t compare to how good it really is.

If you love authentic Mexican cuisine, La Mesita is the place to go! We had the 2 can dine special of 4 tacos and soup of the day. Followed by one of the best cupcakes I have ever eaten! Everything was so fresh and delicious. We brought home corn tortillas, pico, habanero pickled onions and the Chipotle maple cream cheese.....these 3 items will be a staple in our fridge from now on. We can't wait to come back!

La Mesita is a gem in the heart of Peterborough's downtown! With a limited but expanding menu, you can taste the care that Martin takes in creating each one of his dishes. This resteraunt fills the need for authentic Mexican cuisine in a casual quick eats setting. There is a small amount of seating for eat-in dining available and the atmosphere in the restaurant is so welcoming you really want to stay. I cannot reccomend this place enough!

My husband and I love this place! We loved going to farmers market for breakfast on Saturdays. We are so happy that we can now go to La Mesita for lunch and dinner when we visit Peterborough. The food is positively mouthwatering. It is worth the 45 minute drive for a piece of heaven and Mexico.

Amazing! La Mesita has a great menu with a number of vegan options. Martin is very happy to explain the menu and answer any questions you may have. They have vegan tacos, fajitas, salads, & sometimes tortas & tamales! I’ve tried everything except the tamales and it was all SO flavourful & delicious. Very fresh & vibrant food made with love!

The best tacos I have ever had, hands down. I haven’t had food this good since the last time I was in Belize. Great location, awesome atmosphere, and the friendliest staff. Very affordable and the portions are huge! Definitely will be coming back!!!!!

Just tried a few selections from this great restaurant. The pulled pork was out of this world! My 10 year old hates pulled pork and he LOVED it. This is huge praise! Martin, the nicest guy around. Allowed the boys to sample various things they had never tried before. Loved it all!

La Mesita is now hands down my favorite restaurant in town. Chef Martin is amazing and made veggie tamales on request via a facebook post. The tamales were amazing along with the vegetarian torta. We will be regulars here.

You don’t just go for the food. You go for the cozy atmosphere and friendly service! The Mexican sodas are a great touch, we will return just to grab some of those for our fridge. We love everything on the menu. Especially the salsas!!!
