An AMAZING place!
A hidden gem in Parry Sound!
Travelers: Came here only for dinner...
We had such a great time that based on this restaurant, we stayed an extra 2 days in Parry Sound because we wanted to keep coming back!
If you love history and collecting (vintage Lionel model trains, stamps, vintage photographs, etc) and the experience is sort of like having the best meal you'll ever have inside a museum!
We found all the waitresses to be very friendly, a fantastic (!!) menu, very quick service, and a fascinating collection of everything on the walls and display cases. (And it's not too often that you find local artwork and fresh flower displays in the restrooms)
We exhibited such interest that the owner Mike gave us a personal tour. Our dinner was superb; sirloin steak with fresh vegetables and baked potato, and the absolute best fish and chips that we've ever had (and that includes dining for three weeks in Canada's Eastern coast provinces!)
Great little spot for a quick lunch. Great portions, decent prices. Good daily specials too! I like how it isn’t too busy and they follow all Covid-19 protocols. I like coming here for lunch on my work break. They also have fabulous salad dressings that my friend who introduced me to the place told me are all made in-house. I really like their blue cheese! Here I had a BLT which was the daily special that day for $9.99 with salad or fries. Haven’t tried their fries yet I’m trying to be good lol! Wait staff is also super friendly and does a fabulous job being prompt and attentive. Fun place with all sorts of historic photos and train memorabilia. I’m not from Parry Sounds so for me it’s a cute place that feels oddly cozy and like it has a lot of history. Hopefully you like it too! I’ve only had sandwiches so far and they’ve always been stellar.
Perfect tastefull pickerel and special of the day, white fish. The best fish in Parry Sound so far. Not deep fried battered junk food. Nice and friendly waitress. Great value for money. Will come back.
Wellington’s is a locals favorite restaurant in Parry Sound. The walls of the restaurant are full of historic photos of the area. The establishment is medium sized and with a pub feeling. Our server was superb, very friendly and efficient. The menu is extensive with more than just pub food. The pan fried whitefish is outstanding, with a lemon dill sauce on top. We ordered it with double serving of vegetables, which were nicely sautéed and freshly flavored. Their schnitzels are a favorite item on the menu. We had the Jaeger Schnitzel and it was outstanding: crispy yet tender and juicy and flavorful. The wings were very good too although we ordered them medium hot and they were not hot at all.
This is the place to be in Parry Sound to eat. Their fish and chips and steak are so delicious. The best in town tou will not regret dropping by place if you are in the area after that three hour cruise of Island Queen. That's a perfect combination.
Quite surprised, the takeout was Absolutely delicious! The pecan chicken is a must try, I loved it!
Suicide wing sauce was great! Garlic bread tasty. Calamari had too much breading. I suspect alot of other items are very good. Would definitely return for late night eats! Also friendly service.
Nice cosy place. Enjoyed the classic pictures of Parry Sound on the wall. Cosy internal decor, friendly & cordial staff. Food is good as well. Would come again.
