Today was our first time. What a great place. The service was superb. The food was very delicious. The food was brought out in stages and well paced. The server came several times to refill our water. Very nice ambience. We ate very well for $60 for 4 people. When we gave the server a coupon for 10% off, she was graceful about it. We will definitely return.
I go quite often to this place whether it's with a friend or a large group I've always been satisfied with the food and service. The food is always fresh and very tasty. Service is friendly and attentive. Decor is very modern looking and ambience is quite nice and relaxing too. On lazy days I order for delivery. Food arrives fast, hot and delicious!!! This place is a must try if you like Asian food!!!
Open rice is shockingly fancy when you walk in. I felt a bit underdressed. The prices were still good in the 12-14 $ range for a dish. I got the ginger beef and my fiance got the Orange beef (we have similar tastes it seems). Both dishes had great sauces and quality meats. I'm not normally a huge veggie lover but I felt like the ginger beef could have used slightly more. But that's really my only complaint. This made for a nice date night and I would go again.
I was very pleasantly surprised. How can one restaurant have so many different ethnic types of food and still be good. Well they pulled it off. The food had lots of flavor and was cooked to perfection. Start with the Papaya salad and the rest will surprise you!
I have been to eat here over 10 times and the food is always great!! The last two times the music has been a real turn off. This past time they was constant swearing in the music. Needless to say, they obviously don't want to be a family restaurant. I may go back but only for take out.
Good Fusion. Great flavors, generous portions and nice decor; all for a reasonable price! Definitely worth checking out.
Okay Overall.. I came in with my cousins at 4:00 pm to a completely empty restaurant. There was nobody at the front desk.. we basically had to yell out "HELLO?" to get someone to come. Waiter looked apathetic and uninterested, which made for a not-so-good first impression.
Food came relatively quickly, I ordered the Gam Ja Tang - nicely done spicy broth, meat was plentiful and overall quite filling so I was happy with that. The dish also comes with kimchi (a standard side dish, but as a personal preference it's just not my thing) and steamed rice - which was a little chunky. This cost me just under $13 without tip. Overall... I give it OK quality - good entree, and good price. However, there are better, more authentic Asian restaurants in Ottawa. If I were to go back, I would order the dynasty ginger beef.. that was pretty good but it's not too different from sesame beef that you can get at Chinese restaurants like Mandarin Ogilvie or Sea King.
Great food at VERY reasonable prices. Go there for lunch quite often. Where else can you have a 3-course meal for $11.99 and the quality is GREAT. Only negative point: somebody (and we did on several occasions without success) should change the dumplings names as they all seem to have shrimps in them. We keep on ordering pork and every time: shrimp in in as well.... besides that: friendly service.
Excellent!. Excellent ambiance, food and service. Our party of four shared several apetizers and main courses - everything was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Awesome place!. I went there last friday with my friends and ordered squid with Korean hot sauce. The food was really great and there was a male server who served our table, he treated us so well. I fully satisfied their food and service.
I will definitely go back to Open Rice for sure next time.
