I've been going here at least one Saturday a month for nearly a year. Excellent burgers, great fish & chips, enjoyable appetizers, good ciders and drinks, great bartending. The wait staff can get a bit overwhelmed when it's busy (after 9pm), but otherwise, service is good. Fantastic karaoke nights, really fun and enjoyable pub/den atmosphere. Love this place.
It's a shame to see all the old bad reviews, because I've never been disappointed here.
Another typical 1970's style pub. Well, really a tavern, in a basement, using the same ubiquitous food as do so many of the other pubs around town. It shows its age, but considering it has a lot of regulars, it can't be all that bad. If you want expensive & more chic atmosphere, go down to D'arcy's at the end of Sparks and Elgin.
Stopped in for a quick bite. Dropped in the on the pub while wandering on Sparks st. The staff were great and the service prompt. Walking into the Cock and Lion Pub felt like walking into a friends house and hanging out. Conversation was lively and the food was good.
The soup of the day which was Cream of Broccoli was just what I need the fall air hanging over the city. I know I will be going back again and again.
I can see myself becoming a regular at the pub
