The only place I go to pick up shawarma at the end of a long day! I always look forward to the wonderful service and delicious garlicky goodness that is Istanbouli.
The garlic potatoes are frighteningly good. The servers sometimes roll looser-than-optimal schwarmas -- the owner and his brother are the only ones who've truly mastered that craft -- but they're efficient and sometimes friendly, which is better than I can say for most schwarma places I've visited in Ottawa. The owner and his brother are particularly nice, and always go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Try the mixed beef/chicken schwarma with sweet sauce if you get bored of the usual.

Went for lunch. It was "good." really appreciated when I said no garlic, they truely put no garlic products on my food.

Good Main Course. The fatoush leaves a bit to be desired but the meat dishes were excellent as were the rice and potatoes. The garlic sauce was just right, not too strong and not too weak.
So tasty! My favorite shawarma place in town and it's in my area. Hot, delicious, and quick. Thank you! My only critique is the free baklava that came with the order was the size of a roll of Tardigrade toes but it was free so I can't really be upset. Will order again and again and again! Great food!

The price seems a little steep if you buy one sandwich at a time, but the combination meal(sandwich, side, drink) looks like a reasonable price.
I personally love this place (so the other reviews are perplexing). It isn't the prettiest of restaurants but their shwarma is tasty. I have always had really friendly service and enjoyed what I've ordered. So far I have had both the chicken platter and chicken shwarma. I would recommend getting a large shwarma rather than regular as the regular is quite small. A bit pricy, but I think it's worth it.
Good food at a good price. We have been going here for years and have not encountered any of the service, potato or pickle problems noted in other reviews. There has been staff turnover over the years, and while some of the staff aren't "in your face starbucks super friendly" they have never been rude.
My family has been going here for at least a decade. Good food at a good price, especially for the family platter. Always really friendly service that never disappoints.
First time eating here and was NOT disappointed..was a very lovely meal. Great flavors and was ready when they said it was going to ready. Will eat here again

It's a decent shawarma restaurant. The chicken is a little dry but it works and it's at a great location. There are definitely better shawarma places in Ottawa but non close to it.
