Food is good, not great, but I do appreciate consistency of quality. Today I changed things up from usual small trio (sandwich, salad, drink) and ordered the small chicken plate (rice, potato, choice of salad and shaved chicken with dollop of garlic sauce) -- it was really good ! :)
I like this place. I started going there because it was close, and all my colleagues would ask "where did you get that" and when I told them, they said I should try Orient House on Laurier as it was supposedly better. Well I tried and it's not, I prefer Shawarma Village.
There isn't much you can say about shawarma places, they're pretty much all the same. This one isn't the cheapest but you get lots of meat and veggies. I really like their potatoes but they have a strong garlic taste, even compared to other shawarma places.
The staff is friendly and they're quick. There is rarely a long line of people.
This is my place when I don't have a lunch.
I go to this restaurant at least once a week for lunch. The owner knows my face and order as soon as I walk through the door. By far one if the best shawarma houses in Ottawa. The tabouli bets anyone's hands down.
