Amazing home made Indian cuisine. Love the friendly service and that butter chicken damn! Thank you for everything
The service was wonderful and the food excellent! We will definitely be back.
Stopped in for dinner on Saturday night; spur of the moment. Pleasant surroundings with subtle background Indian music. Ordered the Bahji Onion appetizer; perfectly cooked and piping hot. I had the traditional beef curry; boss had the butter chicken. We split rice and nan. Portions were perfect; we felt sated, but not stuffed or miserable. Chicken was sweet with the occasional hint of heat. Curry was marvelous, meat fork tender and delicious. Price for 2 with tip less than $50.00; no alcohol on this night. We will definitely be back.
Mukut in Orleans. First, delicious! Second, why did I wait so long to go? Nice quiet little location in Orleans, friendly courteous service and some of the yummiest Indian food I've had! Do your self a favour and check out this little gem in Orleans. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. We had the Maharaja dinner and it was fantastic!
Great Food...But Call First. I've been to Mukut's new Orleans location three times. It's been delicious each and every outing. This evening I checked the website for their hours and got in my car to head out for some take out. When I arrived it was closed, despite the posted hours. I called and left a message, and the owner returned my call saying they close on one Monday evening of each month. I ended up having to go to an inferior Indian restaurant and spending more money for less. (I know, "first world problems")
To his credit, the owner told me he would do "something special" for me next time. Can you call seeming random hours and unadvertised closures bad customer service? I don't know. But I was disappointed in them this evening believing they should have posted the closure on their website. I'll see what consideration he will offer me next time.
Fantastic meal! It was so tasty I went back the next night. :) Ordered takeout both times. A tone of flavour and a good amount of spice which I love. Highly recommend the Chicken Dhansak. It's very spicy - do not order if you dont like spicy stuff. Best I've ever had. I cannot eat Naan, but my husband said it was very good and fresh. I'm just glad we tried it for ourselves.
Flavourful, and best nan bread!. My husband had enjoyed lunch at the New Mukut restaurant in Orleans recently and loved the welcome and the food. He invited me to return with him for dinner last evening, and we really enjoyed it.
The place looks clean and fresh, finished with tablecloths and cloth napkins. The welcome was warm and the service prompt without being rushed. We bought wine by the glass, and the portions were generous. All the food was fabulous -- the tastiest Indian food I remember. We shared onion badgi as an appetizer, and then we shared a nan bread, vegetable rice, chicken tika masala and Kashmiri chicken curry. The nan was fluffy and buttery - amazing. The vegetable rice was scrumptious, and the flavours of the chicken and sauces were lovely.
Another couple visiting the restaurant for the first time and starting out skeptical commented to us that their meal had been excellent too.
We will definitely be back.
We just got back from dinner at Mukut! We had a Groupon! The service was excellent and our service was efficient and so sweet!
Our food was delicious and came quickly! We were the only ones in the restaurant which shocked me as the food was so good!
I highly recommend this restaurant! Just as good as Mukut on Rideau!
Groupon Deal. We purchased the Groupon which consisted of $30 value for $15. This was pretty much them taking $30 off of our bill. The menu they use is the same as the Rideau St location, however they don't offer all of the same wines and beer at the Orleans location. All in all, it was a good dinner. We had vegetable samosas to start, butter chicken, beef curry, palao rice and an order of Nan each. We were full by the end. We also split a 1L of wine between the 2 of us. The servers were very quick to seat us and serve us. This place is very small but you don't feel squished. With the groupon deal it was a great dinner for a very low price. Good experience and would go again.
Give it a chance!. I had just made reservations and plans to meet another couple at this reataurant when I read the reviews...neddless to say my exoectations were low and I was heistant to go through with our plans....
I am happy to report that we had a delightful time... good food and very attentive service!
The lamb vindalloo was delicious as was the shrimp dish we chose.
The naan was cooked perfectly, was hot and fluffly.... mmmmm!!
The service was great...making sure we had all we needed, that the food was good and the water was refilled often...
Give this place a chance or a second chance....you will have a nice time and a yummy, spicy, flavourful exoerience!!
Myself, my boyfriend and his 9 year old son all liked the food. The beef vidaloo was spicy and too hot for me (I'm a wimp), but the boys loved it!
