Had the Baja burger at the beach at Mooney's Bay in early September and it was divine. Juicy with flavour that was divine and well prepared. Nice place to grab a fabulous burger with extra options like bacon and egg

Summer is the time to spend each possible moment outdoors. One of those key locations to do just that is the beach. While beach activities don’t really revolve around eating, one can wonder what people like to eat while catching rays. Well, thanks to one Ottawa location, you can get a burger at the beach. That place is called Baja Burger Shack.
This is Ottawa's moistest burger for sure! It is super juicy and quite well seasoned, almost to the point where the meat is falling apart. The strips of lettuce have a sort of dressing too. All in all, a delicious burger!
There seems to be a lot of stuff mixed in with the ground beef, so burger purists might be offended by it. But if you approach it like a meatloaf sandwich, you will be very pleased.

Their sauce is amazing, and they even do completely gluten free burgers! I've been back several times and have never been disappointed. It's beautiful right on the beach too! Worth checking out on a nice day.
Agreed, best burger in town!!. Had the pleasure of visiting the Baja Burger Hut on 3 separate occasions this summer, and my wife and her girlfriend again this evening, their choice destination after roller-blading, and frankly, can't say I blame them.
Burgers are pricey, but worth the cost, the view is fantastic, the ambiance and atmosphere is great, and the cold beverages are a perfect way to enjoy a day Summer's eve in Ottawa! Fries, agreed, need a little work, not sure what is missing, but the burgers...excellent!
One day, maybe the patio will be decorated and the owners can invest some $$ into new tables and chairs, but it works as it is for now!

Love the Baja! Beach Burgs. The atmosphere for eating at the beach is not to be beat! It's a great place to hang out and watch the volleyball teams play, have a burg with a cocktail, chat with friends and just pass the time. The burgers are really good but time and again the fries are sub par. They really need to look into how to make a better fry especially for the beach. Don't order them.
It's definitely one of the best burgs in Ottawa. Worth waiting for.
Really good burgers. Went here a little while ago with my boyfriend and his brother. Burgers were delicious and juicy. My drink (margarita, i think) tasted like paint thinner and was not very good.
For a burger shack on the beach I was really impressed. Will go back next year for sure.
Pricey but tasty. Good burgers. Big size, too. Pretty quick service. Expensive, though. The serving of fries is generous, enough for 2 people. The fries are average, though.

I was fortunate enough to have BAJA for the first time last night! Let me tell you one thing, MOUTHWATERING DELCIOUSNESS! I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and poutine. The burger was perfect. The beef was juicy and seasoned perfectly. The toppings along with the secret sauce, beef and bun all balanced out perfectly and melted together in my mouth. Lots of people are indifferent about the bun, but I personally thought it was great! Not too light and not too heavy, but just right. The poutine could have been my meal on its own. Very healthy portion of fries, great tasting cheese curds, and the perfect ratio of all three (fries to gravy to cheese). I will be going back here 100%!! I suggest you do the same!
