Great atmosphere and good food
We went out on New Year’s Day as we didn’t want to cook. At around 7:00 pm many places were closed and we saw the glow of this restaurant full of people. So we went in and found a pleasant atmosphere and excellent food. The service was good too.
We had a light meal of an appetizer and two dishes but all were tasty.
We had wontons in a peanut sauce appetizers. Excellent. And crispy fried beef with sesame seeds. It was very good though a few were a bit too crisp but overall we enjoyed it. The third dish was a sizzling plate of eggplant stuffed with shrimp. It could have used a little more sauce and perhaps a I bit more spice but it was nice even as served. . We had a really poor meal here a year ago but perhaps they have a new chef so today we recommend it highly.
I love going during lunch! Their à la carte is my favorite! In terms of regular dining: The food is okay, it is our go to when my family wants to eat somewhere close to our home. I love their crispy sesame beef and the stuffed eggplant. Service is okay as well. Pricing varies depending in the dish. Parking can be difficult sometimes depending on when you go.
Came here for lunch w/my family of 5 on a Thursday,and service was a little disoriented but attentive (we were asked if we wanted to order from the lunch specials menu or the Dim Sum menu; we ordered from both); Dim Sum items were fresh and tasty (spring rolls, eggplant filled with shrimp, BBQ bun, shrimp wontons), and the regular menu items ( chicken fried rice, pan fried chicken w/lemon sauce) were also above average. Dim Sum selection was somewhat limited (? related to eating @ the end of the lunch hour).Overall, a very good experience !
We have been to the Beijing Legend a few times on trips to Ottawa. The food has always been excellent. We usually have things like Yang Chow Rice, Mushrooms and vegetables, Kung Pao Chicken, Sesame Beef and so on. Service is sometimes quirky when it is busy -- but that's hardly a serious issue. We take our favorite government servant and bribe them with Lemon Chicken and Fried Rice. It works every time!
I loved Beijing Legend it is one of my favourite places. I enjoyed the deep fried fish with red sauce very much. How eer I really dislike the deep fried lobster.

Great food. The flavours were the best I've tasted, however the variety could be a bit better. The tables were small and spaces were cramped but to me it was worth it. I would go back if only it wasn't that far from where I live.
Don't walk into a Chinese restaurant and expect good service. Should be happy as long as the food delivers, which was well done by this place.
Went with a group of 6. Had Big Plate Chicken, with noodles. We all enjoyed it.
Also had their lamb stir fry, braised fish, beef liver, and a few other dishes - nothing to complain about, all were satisfyingly good.
Our fav go-to place on the way to airport. Have been many times. Dim Sum i usually good, but inconsistent. Recently went for dinner and they were definitely beyond expectations. Bird's Nest dish, fried chicken wings, beef noodles, beef rice great for everyone. ALWAYS GREAT SERVICE. Very accommodating for all ages (had many young children in our party). Nice decor, clean, friendly, free parking.
Salty and a bit too greasy but other else than that, it actually tastes lik northern Chinese food unlike some of the stuff u find at Chinatown. Would probably go again occasionally if I don't just make it at home
Yummy and reasonable. I went there with my husband for lunch. We had the lunch special which is an amazing deal. Soup, rice, garlic vegetables, one other main (I had general taos chicken, he had beef with black bean & vegetable), and a spring roll (which they were happy to sub to an eggroll for my husband. It was very good. I only have two small complaints, my spring roll was too oily and the garlic vegetables could have used some more seasoning. The taos chicken and black bean dishes were excellent though! Some of the best I've had in a long time. They only opened three months ago and I hope they stick around because the food is great. The service was good too.
