The real thing. It's a nice place but we pick up bags of frozen along with chili oil and make them at home. Love their dumplings, but we love the chili oil just as much, and use it for other dishes we make at home..... like spaghetti sauce.
Tiny, family restaurant - great dumplings! We used to come here for bubble tea years ago. We stopped in today, mostly out of curiosity. After sharing a plate of delicate fried pork-and-cabbage dumplings (washed down with a couple of bubble teas, of course), we were hooked. The dough was so tender, the filling so savoury, we immediately purchased 4 batches to take home. We just sampled them...all yummy! The seafood version deserves an extra mention-those shrimp! We'll be back...maybe even this weekend...
Good place for dumplings. The portions are large (~15), prices reasonable by Ottawa standards and the taste is great! These are Northern Chinese style dumplings that have a thicker wrapper (fine with me) and you need to wait until a fresh batch is boiled/pan-fried.
They also have some killer appetizers which could be combined into a full meal. The spicy bean curd salad is unusual and recommended.
Place is bare-bones with a few funky accents (Edison bulbs and modern-looking artwork), the washroom sucks (need to improve), service is friendly and overall, a solid option in the area.

Good. Not the best dumplings I've ever had, but good. Had a classic, pork and Chinese cabbage. They come from frozen so they're not super fresh, and there could definitely be more filling. Same with the dough, kind of inconsistent thickness to each dumpling. I'm being kind of critical, but in an area with basically unlimited options for food, it's not much of a stand out. 15 dumplings for ~$10 is good either way 👍
Last fall, my family and I visited a few cities in Eastern Canada including Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal. One of the restaurants we visited in Ottawa was Dumpling Bowl on Sommerset West. We came across Dumpling Bowl as we were driving around looking for a dumpling-centric restaurant late in the evening.
The dumplings are good! The sauces are good too but the spring rolls are bland! They give about 15 dumplings per order which is a good amount for the price.
For the dumplings, we got the pan-fried (#203) Pork and chives dumplings... Be careful when you eat these. Some of these are so juicy that you'll make a mess.
