Quick and Friendly service, decent price. Egg rolls were very very good but chow mein was a bit bland. Portions are big! I need to add more words to submit review.
Ordered from ruby inn a few nights ago. We ordered general tao which was quite good, Singapore noodles good as well. 1 dozen egg rolls which of course are amazing- the stand out of this restaurant for sure. We also ordered won ton soups which were flavorless so we would pass on the soup next time.
Always fresh and good service. Not fancy but tasty non the less. My kids love it. The egg rolls are a huge hit.
No frills, but just what you're looking for
Definitely a great hidden gem here in Ottawa. The location is unassuming and perhaps might even turn some people off, but I am consistently impressed with the quality of the food and the value for your money. I haven't tried delivery, but the take-out time is generally quite quick and the gentlemen working the front counter are pleasant and polite. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for nice Chinese food with generous portions and for a fair price.
Very reliably good Chinese take-out. No frills (as it is just take-out, no sit-down areas to eat) but it's got a lot of variety, it's always good, and I'm always satisfied. Quick service, very well known in Ottawa South. I'm not going to stop going any time soon.

Ruby's Rocks. For a little place thats been around forever, this place still serves up the best typical Asian in this end of town.
No frills here. Its a small place, but you can tell it's good because it's always busy. Oh and the food is fresh, hot and awesome.
My normal plate is a chow mein, shrimp and chinese greens (bok choy) and egg foo young. I can hardly eat it all as they pack that little 3 divider tray full!
This is my go-to place for this type of food when I don't feel like cooking.
Good food, good service, good deal!. If you have not yet been to Ruby's, I highly recommend you give it a try.
If you like straightforward North American style Chinese food, look no further.

A sure bet! Yummm!. Ordered from this place twice recently and was very pleasantly surprised! Their egg rolls are delicious - open-ended, just as we like them. The first time I took an individual plate and everything was hot, fresh and very tasty. Last night we ordered for a group: egg rolls, chicken fried rice, almond guy ding, chicken balls, general tso's chicken, and Singapore noodles. Again, everything was fresh, hot (even after a 15 minute drive) and delicious. Nothing was greasy, the pieces of meat were substantial (I hate a chicken ball that's 90% batter) and all of the sauces were very flavorful. Good sized portions too.
When we used to live in Orleans, we would always order from Asia Wok, our east-end favorite but this is a fantastic replacement in the (south) west end. Better than Golden Palace and Wong's. Highly recommended and 2 thumbs up from all. Can't wait for the leftovers!!

The dishes themselves are not great in my experience. The eggrolls are what put this place (and Golden Palace) on the map
Ruby Inn. I have been lucky enough to be introduced to this place by my in-laws. If you are going to Ruby's my favorite thing is the Garlic Chicken balls! They are amazing the way they put them in the container with the sauce, then you have these really yummy saucy chicken balls! And the open-ended egg rolls are fantastic. mmm... I may have to go again tonight.
