Thanks so much for taking care of the private party I hosted last night! The staff were fantastic, the space was great and the food was delicious!! I would definitely recommend using this space if you have a private function!
Great food and awesome decor! This place has come a long way in a short period of time! Great staff: Alex is on top of things, Mike's a beauty and a boss behind the bar and the new hire... second to none, as well... go see for yourself!

Perfect location for a pub which EXCEEDS expectations W/ great fare. Been there a few times & experienced accurate, speedy service from thoughtful, attentive staff. Sure, it's a chain, yeah it's on Ottawa's slowest street, but this one deserves a callout.
The beer and drinks are served cold. Meals served hot - all tasty, well-portioned and presented attractively. NB it's a standard pub menu, yet it's seemingly done well... no surprises = SUCCESS these days (just imho). Ive tried items from each section/page, been satisfied each time.... I might break an oath & try cauliflower bites (how is that menu worthy?)
Ottawa patrons have beef w/ rising prices & wine about labor-induced shortages... Yet this pub has found its comfy groove. The next time you're inevitably stuck in Merivale traffic, stop into the Barley Mow. You'll be happier on many levels.
Exactly what you'd expect from a local watering hole; cozy and welcoming ambiance, classic tunes playing in the background, a relaxed and cheerful staff, and some, imo, better than average pub grub. Tucked away from the road so you dont hear it much, you're able to enjoy your meal without being RIGHT on a main artery.
Chicken wings are delicious. You get 10 or more per order. The fries are fresh cut. I prefer Barley Mow wings over St Louis wings. Service is excellent.
** We just tried out the 25-cent wings - Thursday after 8:30pm. 2.50 for 10 wings and fries. They are good as ever. Service as usual is excellent.
** we went for the Thursday night wings special. We sat st the bar. The fries are especially good today - they are thinner, still fresh cut. The wings are excellent. The bartender guy is super helpful. He deserves a big tip. Still 5 stars.
