Must try Buffet!. Took a chance with my lady and tried the buffet. We were greeted by the hostess and seated in a very large eating room. The food was very good and represents excellent value. The atmosphere is very relaxing with Indian music piping as we sat down to eat.
A welcome addition to the East end. As an ex-Montrealer I appreciate that the food scene is maturing in Ottawa.
Desert note: The green coconut squares were a hit with my lady.
Best food, best service,and best Indian cuisine in Ottawa.. On 31 Dec'2014, We went to the Palki Cuisine of India .We were 6 friends together. There was a big party going on in the restaurant. The restaurant was full and we had to wait at the entrance . We got the table near the window.
They were serving special buffet for the New year's eve. The price was $20.15. For us it was very reasonable because before we went ,we call couple of restaurants, everybody was asking 30$-35 $.we had Lamb,beef,chicken vegetable,tandoori,rice, daal, sweets and what not! We loved the food, atmosphere and the service as well.The serve a glass of wine also within that price. We are looking forward for another one.

Very good food and outstanding service.. I loved every single dish ordered except for the raita which was too salty. Everything else was exquisite.
Restaurant decor is quite charming and the music very relaxing. Bathrooms are very clean. Very good atmosphere. The only problem was that the portions were very small for the price. The three of us left a bit hungry still. This is a new restaurant so I will certainly return as it has great potential. I was told that they also offer a buffet which will certainly bring me back.

went there and ordered for chettinad and pepper naan , not keeping my expectations high but the thing which made me share a review was the same authentic south indian taste and appealing pepper naan loved it and visiting there for sure......
Wish come true. Was looking for a good indian restaurant ever since I have moved to ottawa and got to know about Palki beautiful restaurant , with excellent food and service looking forward to visit again.
Best Indian cuisine in Ottawa.
I saw Palki as I was driving home. Tried it out on a whim, and did not regret it in the slightest. The food is delicious, with the perfect mix of herbs and spices to achieve the maximum amount of flavor. I definitely recommend it.
Excellent food and service in a nice restaurant (and not take out!) atmosphere. We are Indian food lovers and happy to say this is now our one! If you like fish curries, you won't be disappointed. The naan is delicious. Miam, more please!

Nice addition!. The inner east end of Ottawa has a number of eating spots that largely go unnoticed by the rest of the city. I'm glad. I can always find a seat! this shouldn't be a problem with this new addition to the scene here. Palki must seat close to 150 and while nowhere near full last night was doing a respectable trade. Big, bright, clean--elegantly austere space. Service was very accommodating and pleasant--very eager new comers and I mean that in the best way--this is part of what makes Canada great. It's a nice change to go to an Indian restaurant and have a relatively short menu from which to choose and Palki delivers this,but the menu seems to have been judiciously chosen covering a large number of culinary traditions, cherry picking the classics I suppose. My new husband and I shared 2 appetizers and 3 main dishes which of course left plenty to take home for his midnight fridge raidings. Nothing disappointed. The over the top winner was a beautifully dry spiced beef dish but the lamb and the eggplant dishes were very good as well. The only recommendation I would have is that the tea be something more than a bag in the bottom of an interesting pouring device. It's India after all--how about nice pots of freshly brewed leaves? all in all though, very nice!

Good New Indian Restaurant. My wife and I tried this new Indian restaurant last night (opened about a month ago). The place is very clean. It is a very big place (although it was not too busy when we where there). They also have a lunch buffet.
The waiters are very nice and definitely trying their best.
The menu has a good variety, even though it does not seem to be as long as other Indian restaurant. The food was very good (keep it up!). The heat level was perfect. I guess it's better to have slightly less items, but do them well!
We started with an appetizer called Bombay Chaat. It was really good. From what I remember, it is a mix of chickpeas with puffed rice, a crispy thin noodle, some onions in a spiced sauce (not hot). It is very refreshing and like nothing we've tried before.
Then we had the Lamb Massala and the Aloo Ghobi. Both were very good. The Lamb Massala came in a very balanced and flavorful sauce with tender lamb. The Aloo Ghobi had good flavour and a good mix of vegetables. Could've had more of it.
We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!
Visited Ottawa with my friend to attend the Tulip Festival. Went for dinner at Palki (restaurant) and they were just setting up and getting things ready for the evening/dinner so it took some time for the order to come. I am vegetarian and ordered some veg. curries from the menu but they didn't have the few vegetables at the time so chief couldn't make the curry but they suggested me some other curry which had eggplant in it so I told them no to put it in the curry. Took the suggestion and ended up getting the best veg. curries ever with lots of quantities. That meal lasted for two days. All the curries tasted so good and loved every bit of it. The staff was very nice and friendly. Had a great food and experience.
Great east side Ottawa Indian restaurant. Good buffet, reasonably priced. Popular with a range of ethnicities. Service was very good with cook bringing buffet items directly to our table from the kitchen
Good, affordable food. Unrushed service. Lovely, large, well-decorated, quiet space during the day. Excellent for large groups. Seems to cater receptions often... and on at least one of my attempted visits they did not open because they were still cleaning from the night before. Still, worth it to visit. Just call before coming.
Tasty food. Buffet was very good and prices are very reasonable prices.
We drove by a sign outside Palki Cuisine of India last night that said they now have butter chicken poutine. Hubby had indulged in a few beers and was very upset that they weren't open to serve him this poutine at midnight 😆. I told him we could order them today and followed through on my promise. SO GOOD! The portions were huge and the owner was very friendly. We will be back for sure, I can't wait to try more items from their menu!!!!
