Absolutely had an amazing time. Great clientele, staff and ambiance. Music was awesome too! Hip place. Great cheese and meat platters and felt so relaxed we made it our entire night and kept the bottles coming ! Can't wait to go back
I recommend this restaurant/bar to everyone I know! Definitely one of my favourite spots for delicious, creative and fairly priced food. Gotta try their drink "Cold tea" too, pretty sure it's the best cocktail I've ever had <3
Amazing food. Original ingredients rightly paired .
Had their succulent romanesco salad as well as their perfectly cooked duck breast
Dessert was a flourless chocolate cake
Would definitely go back
The food was good. The atmosphere was pleasant. Nothing really stood out so probably won't back even though there wasn't anything wrong with this dinner. Thought it was weird that there was a very young child at this establishment. There aren't any high chairs.
Service was right on and the food was exceptional!

One of the best small plate restaurants in the city. Meant for sharing, the dishes were well prepared and served beautifully. Staff is very knowledgeable and were attentive to every table (even during dinner rushes).
A mistake was made with a nut allergy, but they were very apologetic and made us a new plate immediately.
Really cute place. Food servings are relatively small but expected from Preston. Great cocktails and cool atmosphere, service was okay considering how busy it was.
Food is awesome. Service is friendly and efficient. Our server didn't know how to make a flat white but at least she tried. I would definitely come back.
I really like 268. It's small and almost always busy, but its got a chill vibe & great music (they also have a DJ who plays a mix between classic rap, house, & electronic). Staff and crowd are very hip, and the food is SO good. I am obsessed with their Chicken Poutine, beets, and tuna crudo. Cocktail and wine list is also a hit: I love their rosé. On Sundays you can buy a bottle of wine for 1/2 price, which is amazing!
Critiques are that it's not a wheelchair accessible restaurant, can be a bit pricey and the parking is a bit cramped (but so is the rest of Preston street). Also, the bathrooms on the 2nd floor are a little hard to see as they are behind the bar, but access is not restricted so anyone can go in and use them. Second set of restrooms are located in the basement.
Overall, always a great experience! I will go back again and again.
On a Saturday night the place is packed, Reservation works fine; no waiting to be seated but then a long time sitting, not even drinks. Until 30 minutes later, a very expressive employee describes the menu and helps to make choiçes, Again waiting for the food, a nice selection of creative small dishes invites to try several of the appealing choices
After all, a bit to pushy pricewise. In short a one time experience.
Great food and easily accommodated me as a vegetarian. Waitress was very helpful and explained the menu thoroughly. Fresh ingredients and really delicious flavours. We definitely have to save room for dessert next time; the dessert cocktails were all we could manage and they were delicious. Service slowed down when it got busy, obviously, but they seemed a bit understaffed. All in all a great experience and definitely will be back!
Brilliant!. Im a chef from Vancouver, I did my due diligence on line & also inquired from some "foodies" at our conference as to the "best" place to go for dinner. I only had 1 opportunity to go "outside" of the "catered in" food at the conference ... Needless to say I was beyond excited to have something else! I was recommended to go to 26ate,from the immediate front of the house service, to our server, to the food experience ... I'm still on a food high! It has been SO LONG, since I've enjoyed myself that much!! Letting my server chose my entire meal & wine pairing, I was beyond HAPPY!! If ever I'm in Ottawa again my first stop will be 26ate! What a GREAT gem! Kudos to you all!
Really enjoyed 268. Cozy atmosphere with delicious food. I had the duck and the portion was very generous. We also enjoyed a cheese platter and arancini ( they were a little try for my liking). Will be back to try other dishes.
Underwhelming cheese and charcuterie platter for 45$. The meats were chicken and duck, one meat tasted similar to bologna, I was not a fan. Could've used another jam to compliment the flavors. Other dishes ordered were the steak, falafel and capelletti. These were all great sharing dishes and it was nice to taste a few different things on the menu!
Really good experience from start to finish! Starting with checking Covid vaccines at the table rather than the door so it doesn’t cause a backlog. Waiter service is friendly and come with good recommendations. Food-wise, starters are a bit hit or miss, more hit. Didn’t think the tuna crudo worked as way too much going on but the sweet breads and the tofu starters were amazing. What was even more amazing were the mains! The fish and the duck stood out a mile! Absolutely amazing! Mind blowingly good! Would def go back! Well done!
I live for their beet and plum salad 💛. The twice-baked potato with veggies was also incredible. 10/10 will be back again! Also, their new indoor renovations are stunning.
I had a great time with my friend at this place. I ordered the duck and she ordered the trout. Both were cooked to perfection with a mix of amazing flavors. Our server was super nice and helped with recommendations and suggestions. The atmosphere is also very cosy and nice. All in all I had a great time and wonderful meal there.
This place was great. The chef made outstanding flavour combinations using different vegetables. The mix of king oyster mushrooms fiddleheads and beans was just outstanding. The lamb dish was very filling. The Cornish hen a favourite with our guests. The service was very friendly and efficient. We'll priced comfortable location. We will be back!!!
Fantastic food. Great service. They were happy to accommodate allergies. The only option however at my last visit for egg free desert was the vegan chocolate cake which was not bad. The main course and wine selection was the real star. I had the steak and for appetizer was the beet salad
This was the best meal I have had in a long time. We shared the steak and lamb plates, and they were both incredible.
The service was quick and incredibly friendly and the drinks were also delicious.
My only concern is that I wont want to try anything new on the menu because those were so good.
