Had a lovely dinner on Thursday evening with a friend. Chef West De Castro is a wizard with fresh, local ingredients. The popcorn starter was a lot of fun, and tasty, too. The soup of the day was asparagus and lovage and tasted like spring in a bowl.
My friend had the burger of the day, and said it was the best burger she ever had. She was also impressed with the potato wedges, which were done to perfection, and the house-made Mayo and house-made ketchup were the perfect compliment to the potato goodness.
My duck was divine. Honestly, it took a lot of self control to not wipe the last remnants off the plate and lick my fingers.
We shared the creme brûlée for dessert, which was a silky bowl of deliciousness topped with just the right amount of caramelized sugar to have that satisfying "crack", but didn't overpower the custard.
I know I will be eating at Clover again, it was a delightful meal with attentive service.
Went in for dinner with three friends on Saturday night, everything was wonderful! The chicken liver paté and popcorn were great starters and the cocktails were delicious. I had the tuna, two others had the beef and one had the burger, all were cooked perfectly. Our server was lovely, we'll definitely be back.
