Delicious good and the service is excellent. The whole staff is very helpful and always happy to make suggestions of their best dish.
My husband and I came across Host India in a karma kind of way but that is a long story.
We went to eat on a friday night and there you go, the two owners are working. That was already impressive.
The service was great and the food outstanding. I have to say, I have never tasted better nan bread.I highly recommend the Lamb Rogan Josh mmmmmmmmmmm so incredible.
Try it, you won't be disappointed !!
Apart from the fact that this successful, reliable, clean and friendly restaurant never fails to make fantastic food, the CHICKEN MADRAS AND NAAN ARE SOOOOOOOO GOOD!!
Great atmosphere! Love the lunch buffet, small selection of foods but dont let that detour you the quality is AMAZING! The price is great too :)
The food at Host India is amazing. I can't recommend this restaurant enough, everything on the menu is worth trying at least once. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the buffets.
Excellent! I got takeout here for the first time and it was great, I got butter chicken while on the go and I was a little skeptical about the price (18$) until I saw the size, one order is enough for a couple or small family and definitely delicious!
We went in on a Friday night and had a Beef Madras and a Punjabi Thali. The service was fast and the food delicious. It is a good portion and great variety. New favorite Indian place.
Visited Host India for the lunch buffet with my husband recently. Great option for lunch in this Neighbourhood. Great selection of dishes, with a large crowd of customers, meaning the food was continually being turned over. Good assortment of mild and hot dishes, so easy to accommodate those that cannot eat spicy foods. Tandoori chicken had a lot of chicken on the bone and a nice smoke to the flavour. Watch in the window as the cook skewers the chicken and makes the naan. Good option for lunch, and good selection for $14.99. Will return when we are in the Neighbourhood at lunch.
My fiancé and I went for the lunch buffet. There were a good amount of dishes to try plus a salad bar and a desert bar. The dishes were flavorful with big chunks of meat or paneer/lentils. I was happy with each selection I made and stuffed to the brim when I left :) I also had the mango lassi which is a mango/yogurt drink that I always love. The desert bar was great but could have used a few more fruit in the fruit section (there were only oranges).
The butter chicken was pretty good. We loved it!!! Lamb and beef were spicy and great! Foods were perfect but service was mediocre . I think we over tipped. We went during saturday between 1130 to 2pm for lunch. The choices for the buffet was good. No need to tip 15% at a buffet style .
Very good butter chicken the best. The total order was excellent can't remember all the names but very tasty. If you want to try or you like Indian food it is the place to go
Went on a week night. The place is fairly large but was not very busy. We ordered the butter chicken and the muttar paneer. Both were very good, but I found the chicken not spicy enough to my liking - I wish the waiter would have asked our preference in regards to the spiciness level. Overall, a good place.
Got some Indian food for supper tonight from Host Indian. The whole family (including the babies) really enjoyed the food. We got an order of butter chicken, which was mild on the spice, and a winning dish for Illyana. We also got an order of chicken Biryani, delicious but wish there were more fried onions, love me those fried onions lol. We got a few different sides, meat samosas, vegetables samosas, a Kachumbar salad and their famous house made Naan bread. The meal was perfect and we have so much leftovers. Now I understand what colleagues and friends have been talking about, they make great tasting Indian food. If you are craving Indian, you need to check them out! #supportlocal #ottawafoodiestalker
I’m usually not that easy to give 5 stars, specially to a restaurant. But this place deserves it.
When I first got inside and saw their prices, I immediately said that this place is way overpriced. But I still tried it so I ordered chicken madras… and boy it was really damn good. I don’t how they did it, but it was good. The servings was big too so since I was by myself, I couldn’t finish the whole thing.
I’m gonna be back here to try their other good before I go back home to Toronto.
I have ordered from Host India many times and I am always so impressed with the freshness of the food. Their butter chicken and curries have so much flavor they are incredible. The samosas are delicious. Everything is so good ans the portions are very generous! Anyway try it! I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
I like this restaurant, even in this hard times, they are cooking very decent food. And they cook fast. Portions are more than generous.
You mish try there aloo gobi or aloo zhira, they are the best!
Absolutely the best Indian restaurant in Ottawa. And if you're lucky enough to have Ali as your waiter, you will have an even better experience! The butter chicken is a must!
Delicious, generous portions (and they wrap up your order with so much care!) Tried their Mulligatawny Soup. The flavours transported me to another world! So good. Also ordered the Butter Chicken with rice and a side of garlic naan. My husband and I didn’t talk the entire meal except to repeatedly say how tasty everything was. Highly recommend.
The BEST Indian restaurant in the area by far !!
