I cannot say enough about the experience my husband and I had at Play. We ordered the charcuterie plate (to die for), three of the savoury dishes (amazing), and the peanut butter bomb for dessert (speaks for itself)... The creative pairing of textures and flavors was wonderful, every bite was like a symphony for my taste buds!!
Jen our server was great, friendly and explained the concept perfectly. The wine was awesome and when we got to talking about the lack of PEC wines in Quebec, we were treated to a PEC pinot tasting on the house. How thoughtful!!! I can not think of a better place to have had our 10th wedding anniversary dinner. We will be visiting again from Montreal as soon as possible.

Amazing experience, would definitely come back. The scallops were cooked to perfection. The pork belly salad was to die for, my favourite dish. The hanger steak was cooked very well. And, the Parisian gnocchi was bursting with flavours.
The service was exceptional. From her suggestions, her care, and the way she looked after other tables was the best waiting I've ever seen.
Must try: Pork Belly Salad and Gnocchi.
Amazing Valentines dinner experience with phenomenal service and tasty dishes. My absolute favourite was the gnocchi it was so flavourful and tender. The pork belly was very tasty, scallops were great, both cocktails were delicious. I suppose they change up the way the ingredients were cooked because our scallops seemed like a sashimi version and I notice the previous reviews gnocchi had popcorn? Haha
We asked about the taste of the fig cocktail because we didn’t want a strong alcohol taste and they fixed us up with a version that was mild!
The cheese board was fun and soup was creamy! 10/10
A magical experience after such a long time of social distancing for our Dream Team! Jocelyne arranged every covid-safe detail along with an incredible dining experience upstairs for our private party. Everyone raved about the food, awesome servers and the ambiance. It couldn't have gone better, thank you PLAY!
Modern small plates restaurant in the heart of byward market. Great for a fancy meal and great for big groups as well. Made a reservation online for a work dinner and was easily accomodated for a large group.
On the dinner menu, you choose 2 small plates for $40. I got the toasted fennel gnocchi and steak with fries. All the dishes were plated beautifully and we were quite full after too! I also had the negroni sour for my cocktail and opted for a dessert at the end for an extra $10. The maple pudding chômeur was delicious!
Just had the most lovely Valentines dinner with my Girlfriend here! Brandon was a fantastic server, very knowledgeable about the wine and dishes served here, atmosphere was delightful and we had a wonderful experience! We will definitely be coming back !
Highly recommend this restaurant. Their sauces and food quality are so delicious, it's worth it. We tried the Parisian gnocchi, rainbow trout, Patagonia prawns, Hangar Steak, frites and grilled sourdough. I thought the gnocchi would be heavy but it was just enough portion size, and crispy on the outside, tasty! The rainbow trout was great, crispy fish skin and tender. Server was friendly and attentive.

Unquestionably one of the best meals I've had in years. The balance of flavors and textures was crafted to perfection. The chef is clearly elite given the flavors. Simply cannot say enough about how memorable those flavors were.
DING DONG! Olivia was amazing! We had four starters with pairing wines. Amazing experience! Delicious food and wines. Especially the chocolate bomb and late harvest Spanish wine. They even made Brazilian coffees for us. We will come back again.
