The people writing these negative reviews are dingbats. I wonder how anyone could say that it was horrible. It is beyond me. The presentation may not be the most spectacular, but the quality of the food tastes very good to me. I used to be a regular August 8... I'm a frequent customer of spoon and fork. And this place is much better than both. The beef ribs here are the best I've had. I will absolutely return.
Toronto-Quality AYCE Sushi. Sushi Hour is a Toronto-quality AYCE sushi restaurant that just so happens to be located in Oakville. The sushi here isn't necessarily fantastic, but it's good, and well worth the price. If you're familiar with sushi in the Toronto area, you've likely eaten at dozens of restaurants almost exactly like this one. Sushi Hour gets points for managing to pull the same thing off in Oakville, where good sushi can be rather hard to find.
Go here for the value (good sushi at good prices), and if you love AYCE sushi. The sushi and sashimi is (usually) very fresh. Just don't expect it to knock your socks off.
This place is the best sushi place in Oakville at a great price! I've been to Spoon and Fork and August 8 but this is better and is less expensive... Bring cash too because you get 15% off your meal.
Not bad. Perhaps not the best all you can eat sushi place around, but good enough that I'm willing to go for a return visit if another Wagjag deal comes up. General quality of the food is good, but not spectacular. The low point of the items selected were the chicken wings; no seasoning and no flavour. The high point was the grilled egg plant; nicely cooked and tasty.
I have gone to sushi hour many times. Food is always a hit, service is sometimes a miss. I ordered a green salad two times and I never received one. Sashimi is always very fresh. If you decide not to go for all you can eat their plating is fantastic!
LOVE THIS PLACE. I have been here since it opened and I have NEVER had a bad experience. Sure it's on the pricey side.. but i love almost all the menu items. I usually stick to the seafood as I don't go for the meat and it's always fresh and perfectly presented. The service was great.. but i think they got new servers... so it's a bit off kilter! But for a good sushi experience I totally recommend it :)
We're Fans!. We visit at least once or twice a week. The staff is always friendly, and the food prepared consistently. The sushi and maki are always tightly rolled, compact and delicious. Looking at some of the other reviews, I wonder whether or not these people have the wrong restaurant? Try it, for casual, competent, fresh and satisfying meals. A real neighbourhood, friendly place.
When going out for sushi I mainly stick to maki, sashimi, and of course sushi. Sushi Hour has decent sushi. Certainly not extraordinary, however, the waiting staff were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Pleasant surprise. This place is a pleasant surprise in my neighborhood. Tried it for the first time last weekend. Smaller place, friendly, courteous and quick service. They offer an all you can eat option for both lunch and dinner. We were there for dinner and went for the all you can eat thing for $25/person (lunch is cheaper). All you can eat menu is very varied, I would guess over 100 items to choose from, and not just the cheap stuff. We had our fill, we were delighted with the quality/freshness of the food. Of particular interest were their Gyozas (dumplings) and their shrimp tempura, which were both probably the best we'd had up to this point (and we've had a lot!). I'll be back!
