The surpise inside. Quite honestly from the outside you may think twice. But once you've tried the food you'll be returning on a regular basis. Hard to find good Thai outside the downtown core. Staff is friendly and genuine.

We finally tried this place after hearing many positive reviews about the food, despite the appearance from the outside. Our group ordered five dishes (fresh rolls, red curry chicken, cashew chicken, pad thai, mussaman) and each one was outstanding. It would be easily overlooked due to its unappealing decor, but I recommend you give it a shot! We will definitely be back.

Great lunch!. The decor does need some updating, but does not reflect the quality of the food. The pad thai is one of the best I've had in a long time. Good portions, great flavour, and served hot. The lemon chicken soup starter has a nice kick and would be a wonderful soother for a bad cold! It's spicy yet comforting. The menu is substantial and the lunch combos are a great deal.
Forget the badmouthing, this Thai place is the best in town!. I'm European French and for me it's all about taste. Fact is that in Oakville, it's hard to find good tasty food without to pay a fortune. A lot of asian food places where I ate in Oakville were mediocre at best or really not good at all. So, it was really a happy surprise to find this little family restaurant. Don't make your decision on the rustic front end of this restaurant, but ON THE FOOD: Their fresh spring rolls and coconut chicken soup are amazing. The nicely flavored coconut rice is a must. The cashew chicken, Chicken curry, green curry and pad thai are really (really!) tasty. Add a Sticky rice or fried bananas for desert and you are in for a treat! This little restaurant is on my oakville top 3 list for not too expensive awesome food: Salad thai, Adonis (mediteranean food) and Julia (Italian and Mayan mexican food).
Amazing food (locally).... I live in the (WRRA) West River which is just east of Kerr St. We are delighted to have such a gem in our neighbourhood. I make the effort 4x month @lunch to pick up a take out (driving almost 20 minutes) but it's worth the drive! Over the last while, I've been lucky to taste just about everything on the menu and trust me, you can't go wrong with 98% of it. The place is small, simple but has the true dedication and charm of a small family business. Many business in this area come-go, but this one is thriving (good for them, as they work hard at it). The concept is basic...reasonable prices and good food (a perfect combo). One thing I would like to see is an interior update ... a coat of paint does wonders and would really freshen things up.
Salad Thai is, in my opinion, one of the very best restaurants in Oakville and I would venture to say the surrounding area. When my friends and family visit from out of town, we always enjoy the local flavour.

Fabulous food!. Not knowing what I had in my own backyard, it took a friend to turn me on to this delicious place. Friendly excellent service, and the willingness to slightly modify a dish - I don't tolerate hot spicy things - they very graciously omit this from the fantastic Spicy Eggplant, and along with other tasty dishes has me coming back on a regular basis - dine in or take out. Ginger Beef, Yellow Chicken Curry, Mixed Veg, Chicken Pad See Ew are some favs. The down side? The house wine leaves something to be desired.
Good place for a quick bite. Very small and very casual, yet surprisingly good quality food. Would not recommend for dining at all, but the food is pretty authentic, with good sized portions.
Love the flavours. Everything we ordered from here tasted great! The only wrinkle is curry portion is quite small.
Very homely place. A bit on the pricier side but the food is fantastic. The owner is very friendly as well and the service was great.
We had the thai coconut soup, crispy squid, spicy fried rice with beef, green curry chicken and the pad Thai with chicken and shrimp.
The soup was very good. The pad thai could have used a few more shrimp but it was very good. All of the dishes we ordered were really very good.
We had the sticky rice with mango for dessert and it was delectable!
Definitely a place to visit again.
Great food - the pad thai was delicious! Prices are reasonable. Cozy setting inside .. I suggest a reservation for dinner because they seem super busy, plus the delivery and takeout orders. I recommend it for authentic, fresh Thai food.

Service was awesome. I reserved a table because the place is on the small side, not a lot of parking behind, but you can park on the street.
Food was great. I tried the mango salad, green curry, pad thai, the fish and the sticky rice with mango. All was awesome!! I recommend trying all I mentioned!! However, I did not like the chicken balls. I guess it was not something I expected. It looked like a fish ball but tasted like chicken. The kids ate it and loved it though. I also did not like the chicken skewers. It was rubbery, but with the peanut sauce it was good. I would definitely go back!!
This has been a go to spot for my family since they opened long ago. The panang beef is by far the best I've had in the GTA, and I've tried a lot. I also usually go for the pad thai but recently tried the drunken noodle. It was equally fresh and amazing tasting. Hands down one of the most authentic and consistent thai resuturants around. Certainly the best in Oakville.
Although this restaurant is small but the vibe is good and place is clean, one of the authentic Thai cuisines that you would like to try. I ordered Panang curry, chicken satay and chicken pad thai. Owner offered us a small plate of shrimp chips while waiting for our serve. Dishes are pretty good but just I’m a little bit disappointed with the chicken satay since I was expecting it to be more “bbq” style instead of lightly grilled although the latter is more healthy I guess. Peanut sauce was less flavorful compared to other places that I had been to and curry dishes are not coming with rice, have to order extra if you want. Overall, service was good and food taste okay.
