This was our first time ordering take out with Red Chilli. The phone service was polite and quick. We ordered 2 hrs in advance and the food was just finishing being prepared as I was paying. Service was pleasant, and friendly. However the server did linger a bit after I paid cash to see if I was going to leave a tip. Which I did and they were grateful and thanked me. (tipping for take out? Not too sure if it's a given, but I seem obliged to leave a few dollars. Usually just under 10% for take out). They presented my with a well packaged take out carrying box. No plastic bag which when in the car usually topple over. It was a 15 min drive home and the food sat for another 10 mins. and it was still good and hot. We were very pleased with the quantity and quality of the food. Tasty and plenty of it. One thing which was disappointing: Diced Chicken Cashew, very good but had difficulty finding the diced chicken.
The Beef and Broccoli was very good and fresh...beef was tender and not chewy and the broccoli had that crunch of freshness...Over all, the food was very good and we would definitely refer our friends to go there. We will be back.
SO GOOD. This is the best Chinese- place I have been to in many years. They use fresh ingredients and know how to cook. I have returned to eat here.
So good!. One of the best Chinese Restaurants I've been too. I would say the best Chinese restaurant in North Van probably. The price is decent and the service is good.
Good food. Small place. Little pricey. Best for take out
I'd recommend it.
We liked it but... Ok, it just reached high enough to be voted thumbs up, but we're not completely sold. The decor is contemporary and hip and felt very comfortable, service was quick and efficient and contrary to other reviews our bill arrived accurately and without issue. So far so good. The food. We had the Singapore Noodle which was quite acceptable and sufficient in quantity, however, the house specialty, ginger beef was sweet well beyond the scale of cotton candy and the "beef" was "beefless". In other words, they could have battered and deepfried newspaper or shoeleather and we couldn't have told the difference. Oh yea, did I mention it was sweet! Anyway, we would return and try other items on then menu before committing to this restaurant one way or the other.
My first visit was today.... Awesome food. Could be one of the best Chinese on the North Shore
Consistent, good Szechuan. Service not warm and fuzzy. Do not try to make any substitutions - I was actually told by the server that if I want it different I should make it at home!! I still go back though!!! Occasionally...
I' be been here twice and I've been impressed each time. The place is small and busy but it's always clean. The food is fast and really good. Service can vary but I think that has to do with the language barrier. I have tried the hot and sour soup (sooo good) the spring rolls ( yum!), the spicy Szechuan chicken ( a bit too spicy but good), the orange chicken (good), the chicken fried rice ( okay), and the cashew chicken ( good). I can't wait to go again and try something new! The outside is a bit misleading but it's definitely worth trying!
Red Chilli Szechuan. My favourite Chinese food restaurant on the North Shore. And it is a favourite with friends and family - especially our friends who are vegetarians.
Consistant quality. This restaurant has a great consistency of quality and service. My vote for the best Chinese restaurant on the North Shore
We found Red Chilli to be quite good and from our experience, felt as though some of the negative reviews on here to be a bit over the top. Everything we ordered tasted great, the servicer was friendly, and it’s in a great location right next to Victoria Park. We did find it slightly on the pricier end but that’s minor issue.
Food and service is very good, as always! Been going there every chance I have for years when I am around that area. Their prices are a bit too high though.
