The food is delicious. I ordered the funghi trifolati (portobello mushrooms), gamberi al vino bianco (sautéed prawns) and the taglierlini con gamberi (pasta with prawns) and it was all perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The mushrooms were well sautéed and the prawns were not over cooked but rather just right. While I don’t believe the the pasta was freshly made it was definitely high quality and cooked al dente. Although the restaurant inside is in need of updating, the general ambiance had soft lighting and a romantic feel. Pricing was VERY reasonable. This is officially my favorite Italian restaurant in North Vancouver and I will most definitely be returning. The only reason I didn’t give it 5/5 is because of the need for interior updates.
The food is amazing, the ambiance is great and the owner, Tiberio, is not only a great Chef but also very friendly. I'm not in agreement with "Kosherish Dave"'s comments. I've been going to La Cucina for the last 10.5 years and I have always enjoyed a tasty meal. *NEVER* bland.
There are Italian restaurants and then there are excellent Italian restaurants. La Cucina is excellent. The antipasto misto and the tortellini keep me coming back and the restaurant never disappoints on anything. I recommend this restaurant heartily.
Great Restaurant. Both the food and the service were excellent. My girlfriend and I started off with the Bresaola which was pretty good. She ordered the Penne con Salsiccie which tasted great and I ordered the Fettucine Boscaiola which was incredible. At $16-$17 a dish I can't recommend the pasta enough. Now to head there for a special occasion to try some of the heavier fare.

Having very delicious dinner. Tried the appetizers and loved them much and posting the photo of artichoke bottom crab mix appetizer, loved that one especially. I talked to the host the chef Owens the restaurant for 40 years. Definitely a place to pay a visit. Besides the food being delicious, they are very polite and nice people.
Hands down one of the best Italian restaurants. Everything is delicious and their specials are always unique. Like the t bone veal below.

This Restaurant was lovely and delicious. The staff was very courteous and professional. They were fast to check on the quality and taste of our food after serving and the food was next level tasty. We had a couple of Appetizers and having Dessert was a must after our meals were delicious. I would highly recommend anyone eat here for dinner when looking for an authentic Italian meal.
This restaurant is the real deal. Friendly and attentive owners and staff. Food was top notch, high quality Italian cuisine in a rustic and romantic setting. Beautiful for a date night or a celebration with the family. Highly recommended and I will be back!
Loved the experience, it was great start to finish.
Felt a little shy for being under dressed. They welcomed us in like family. Very short table wait while exiting customers were excited for us to be there.
Got a seasonal mushroom appetizer, and ended up using the free bread to clean up the sauce. Chicken main was excellent. And the affgato was amazing. All desserts and even the Gelato are made in restaurant.
May go back during my short visit here. Loved everything about it.
Excellent restaurant!
Prices are fair, portions just enough (can't believe someone complained in a previous review... want big portions? go to Anton's or across the line), and the taste and presentation are unbelievable.
Service is also above average.
White table cloths, white napkins and impecable cutlery.
There is ONE thing they should improve on - They could update their bathrooms - They're very clean, but a little dated and dark.
The food is awesome here. I had the carbonara and it was delicious. Just the right portion size as well. My date had the steak and he really enjoyed it. We shared the chocolate lava cake after and it was so dang good. If you like a lot of rich chocolate, order that! We didn't have a reservation and it was a busy Saturday night, but they sat us within 10-15 mins which was great. It was worth the wait. I definitely suggest making a reservation ahead, even if just 2 ppl. If you're looking for a date night or a party, come here!
