For what seems an eternity I have been walking past a photo of Jane Copeland's smiling face teasing me with a promise of "Coming Soon". As weeks became months, I had all but resigned myself to making the journey to the North Shore's alternative breakfast spot - Denny's. I understand their Grand Slams are something to witness … free refills on both coffee AND ketchup! Fortunately, Lift has arrived and, as a result, the quality of the breakfast scene on Lower Lonsdale has skyrocketed. This morning, I braved the crowds hustling for a position in the steady queue and ordered the “Heritage Hash” – crispy shredded potato, house made pastrami and roasted red peppers, topped with two (perfectly cooked) poached eggs, green onion crema, and gruyere cheese crisp. As I took my first bites, I was reminded of Meg Ryan’s iconic scene in “When Harry Met Sally” resulting in the woman next to her stating, “I’ll have what she’s having!” Today’s crowd looked a little PG, so I refrained from voicing my exclamations of delight in Meg Ryan style and instead politely and quietly moaned in brunch ecstasy. A great combination of flavours, well presented, and all cooked to perfection. I witnessed each customer receive the same friendly and attentive service that I had. The Lift’s website summarises the details of the conversion from a 1904 pharmacy to LoLo’s new go-to spot. Salvaged Douglas Fir 2 x 4’s from the original structure lining the walls and craftsmen style windows are just two of the touches that explain why Jane Copeland’s photo teased me for so long. Welcome to the neighbourhood Jane and team; it was worth the wait.

My favourite breakfast place on the North Shore. Can be very busy so allow yourself a bit of time to wait for a table. The coffee is great, food is superbly crafted with attention to detail. Their house made hot sauce is amazing, and the staff is helpful and friendly.

Loved the breakfast. Real Maple Syrup. First grade eggs, had the vegetable Hash, !! And my niece had the french toast, with blueberry sauce and ricotta.
Nice teas, I’d go back.

By far, my favourite breakfast restaurant. I love going out for breakfast, and usually order Eggs Bene. I've had bene's in multiple restaurants, in different cities around the world, but Lift's bene's top them all. I've tried bites of their french toasts and other dishes and they are also amazing. The coffee is good, espcially with free refills. I like the fact you order at the counter and then take your number to your table. Once you're done eating, you can just get up and go! The girls that work there are sweet and always supply great service. They bake their own bread and pastries. I always grab a muffin or two for a snack or lunch later. It's always busy, even on weekdays so make sure you get their early. You know a place is good when theirs a lineup out the door!

Beautiful corner bakery where Moodyville diner once stood. Its often busy so gets quite tight but the staff are generally quite capable. If anything lets them down its their tablet PoS which takes 2 minutes to punch in a single muffin.

The baked goods are overall very well done. Theres definitely expertise her although how come no double baked croissants anymore?

Breakfasts are pretty but pretty one-note and disappointing. Its rich on rich without any reprieve. Were Jane to incorporated spice, acid, or herbs in some way I think the dishes would be winners, unfortunately its only part way there.

I skip the breakfast but their coffee is great so Ill still pop in for one with a muffin from time to time.

Atmosphere:  The atmosphere is a mix of a coffee shop with a restaurant. It's straddling between the two and I'm not sure if that is the best model for what they have going on. . Service: People working there are helpful, the manager/owner checked in and gave us a lot of detail of the food. I'd come back just because he took the time to let us know how the food is prepped. I'm a huge nitro brew fan as you've seen in my other posts and he asked how I liked theirs.

When the line is out the door, you know it's going to be good! The menu is simple, has variety, and I had a hard time choosing what I wanted. Went with the Ship Builders Benedict: Two poached eggs served on crispy potato roestis, topped with hand made hollandaise sauce and served with fresh greens plus maple bacon and roasted tomato. Had to also add the shaved prosciutto cause the more meat the better! The combination of this dish was great, everything worked well together, ingredients tasted fresh and my favourite part was watching the yolk ooze out! The pouched eggs were nice and fluffy! The yolk was nice and rich orange, which just means the hen had more grass than feed in it's diet. The prosciutto melted in my mouth a little as it was super fresh, and wasn't too salty which was nice. The wait for food to come out is a bit long as it's suuuper busy, but tends to pass by really fast when you talk a lot, haha. The owner was suuuuper nice and even chimed in my conversation about coffee. Great environment, good little spot, would say it's worth a try as it'll only get better once they install the patio! 🍳

Lift is by far my favorite breakfast spot. The design and decor sets an immaculate cozy vibe that fits perfectly with a lazy Sunday afternoon or a fancy romantic brunch. The staff are attentive and friendly, and there's a good chance you'll meet the owner. It's clear that there is intentionality and thought that goes into every aspect of Lift. My favorite is the French toast, but the eggs Benedict are also incredible. Their sausage is house made and tastes herby and light. I usually get a drip coffee, but they have a full espresso bar as well. It's a little pricey, but well worth the occasional splurge. I do wish they would set up an automated/electronic/text queue system, as they don't take reservations and the wait can be long at peak brunch times. But besides that, I love everything about Lift. I highly reccomend a visit next time you need a fantastic brunch/breakfast.

Had a great breakfast here. Got there early and there was plenty of space however it filled up fast. Service was friendly and quick. Having lots of water refills is something that many other places just seem to forget. Food was very tasty. The potato’s and eggs were fantastic. Having a choice of sourdough bread was also a pleasant surprise. Check this place out if you are in the area

The breakfast was absolutely great. They have a wonderful menu with a few different vegetarian options. The coffee was strong and tasty. The serviceon the other hand wasn't good. It was only 2 girls helping customers with a huge line up so it was understandable. Overall I would definitely go back to this place. I do recommend to go early on weekends they had a big line up

Great breakfast location with good food, good people and good vibe. The waiting time could be very long as this is a popular location in North Vancouver so I recommend to get there early in the morning. Portions are good and the food tastes very good as well.

We ordered drip coffee, veggie hash, and a half order of benny. So good! We came early enough that the wait wasn’t bad thankfully. 100% recommend coming because we will definitely be back.

We got Breakfast 101 and Benedict which were with fresh ingredients and so delicious! We also loved seasonal scone and sticky bun a lot. The waters was so nice and patient. We’ll go back again!
