Location: Lonsdale Quay Market, First Level, 103-123 Carrie Cates Court, North Vancouver, BC. Meal: XL Roy's Beef, veg, and bean soup with whole wheat bun. Service: Counter service. Atmosphere: Food court style. Bottom line: I've come to The Soup Meister for over 10 years but it's my first review on Zomato. It's a pretty solid place for soup, it doesn't get more home style than this. I love the fact that they now have XL as a size and it's perfect for me to keep me full. Check out their Facebook page for their daily soups.
A good daily selection of soups (usually a choice of 4-5). Hot, fresh ingredients and hearty. Good pick for lunch at Lonsdale Quay if you are nearby.
I figured you can never go wrong with soup and seeing all the positive reviews on this place, I HAD to give it a try when shopping around the market area. I guess you could say I was a bit disappointed, the soup was average priced and it came with a bun and soup. The bread had a decent flavour but felt like your average store bought dinner rolls. As for the soup, they were nice and hearty (i tried the chowder an chill) but i would probably go to burgoo or somewhere if you want better soup.
Worth every penny. This place makes the best soup! I thought the soup was a bit pricey but once I have tried it, I say it was worth every penny! Love it!
Best Soup in Town!. Honestly, I never really liked soup before I tried this place. It has the best soup, great service, and very affortable. I check here at least twice per month. And yes it fills you up too, and I have a big appetite.
I buy the premade soup here very often for lunch before heading downtown. Convenient fresh and awesome tasting.
A trip to the Lonsdale Quay isn't complete without a visit to the Soup Meister . Their soups are made on site, and if you visit early enough, you'll see them prepping and stirring huge pots of soup.
The soup was very flavourful that I didn’t have to add any salt or pepper. I really liked the soft potato chunks in the soup, it’s really good! The bread was much needed to soak up the remains of the soup or it’s just a really good dip.
Often referred to as the best soup place in town, The Soup Meister is a local business that produces soups, stocks and sauces. Located at the Lonsdale Quay, it claims to use only freshest ingredients available in all its products with no preservatives. The retail outlet sells only a few varieties of "soup of the day", but most of their business appears to be in frozen goods. The layout of the business is diner-like, with the kitchen/prep area in plain-sight. What went in With only three varieties of hot soup available (looks like one was erased, probably sold out earlier) on "tap", there's not a whole lot to choose from. We ordered a Mexican Bean and a Seafood Chowder, both in small. Each bowl of soup came with a large bun, which is awesome because I got to make my own bread bowl (best invention ever since the wheel). The soup was comforting; that's probably the best way to describe it. The Mexican Bean was pretty similar to this chili recipe I've tried before
Meister in the German means master, so I am guessing they must be really good at making soup, and maybe the owners are from Germany.
