When I don't want to cook.....I call happy moms!. My family loves this restaurant. You know its good when you kids ask to go there, its my daughters favourite. And with so much emphasis on kids eating healthy I feel good knowing its trans fat and msg- free.
I read the last review and I found it very judgemental. That "little old chinses lady" is one of the sweetest, most friendliest woman I've come across in the service industry lately. And while the decor is not brand new, its always been clean when we've been there. The decor matches the neighbourly, relaxed feel. And I would never judge someone for eating breakfast for dinner. Hey when its good, its good and it don't matter what time it is!
Happy Customer at Happy Mom's. I adore this place! The delivery was quick and the food delicious. I never knew that Chinese food could feel so ... healthy! And still retain its mouth watering flavour. Will order from here again. Happy Mom's Cafe is my new favourite Chinese food place :)
It might not look like the greatest place but the food is delicious! Definitely would recommend it!
Mmmm ..potstickers.. The Veg Potstickers here are the best around & love the gingery sauce that comes with it! Portions are excellent.
Cheap and fresh. Saw on a flyer they do not use MSG so had to and zero trans fats oils so had to check it out. When we walked in we were second guessing ourselves as the decor and building is older but we gave it a try and glad we did. Got a 3 combo chinese food meal for $7.95. Sweet and sour was good maybe a little fatty but very tasty. Breaded almond chicken was not greasy and breaded just right. Chicken chow mein had pieces of chicken not shreds of chicken. I liked that. This will be our new take out chinese place. We live in South Burnaby and this place is way better than Mr. Ho's and First Choice which are some of the favourite chinese food places for Burnaby. Mom's is right on the Burnaby/New West border on 12th. If you eat there you will be satisfied.
Good food -friendly service. Great place to go on a regular basis. why cook,? a good meal here is so inexpensive that it isn't worth heating up our kitchen....or wok if you have one. leave the Chinese cooking to them. Also fun to have deliver that isn't pizza. I never used to order Chinese delivery as I like to eat out not in. But now I do.
They have a great $20.12 special. It was broccoli beef, bbq pork fried rice, pork sweet and sour. What's not to like about that? It was all great.

NEW OWNERS! GREAT FOOD! GREAT ATMOSPHERE!. We got up late and we were going to go out for breakfast. Happy Mom's offers all day Breakfast and so we decided to give it a try. When we got there, my guy decided he was going to do the two eggs, two sausage, two eggs breakfast deal. It is what you would expect - but you wouldn't expect it at that price! What a DEAL!
I decided to go Chinese and I have no regrets. In fact it may be our new weekend haunt. The food was good and the portion size on my combo lunch deal was more than I needed for sure. But who doesn't like a little Chinese leftovers. The food is not greasy or over salted as it is in some Chinese Restaurants. I liked all the items on my plate, and want to try others.
I want to give more of their food a try. I did decide to try bubble tea. I have never had that before, and it is good. If you live close, it is a great place to go because the colors and decor is so cheery and the staff is so friendly. They also deliver. They also Cater so I think I am going to suggest it to my boss for our next office party.
New Owners!!. This little family type restaurant is newly painted and the entire kitchen has been refurbished. There is a large variety of dishes, large portions and reasonable prices. The food is consistantly good with no obvious skimping on anything. Apparently they marinate all their meat to break up the fat so the beef is melt in your mouth. They also have breakfast for $3.99 with a list of dishes. The staff are more than willing to change up an item in their regular dishes for people with allergies or different preferences. They advertize no MSG and low fat cooking oil. I will be going back for more Beef Noodle Soup on Saturday when I hear there is a guitarist.
