Anything that any person has said below this post... Doesn't truly understand how absolutely amazing this place is. If I was able to give more than 5 stars.... I would in half a heartbeat. Our server (Diana) was pretty much the best person ever. She chose a tequila flight and a mezcal flight for us.. and effing nailed it. As a chef... My hat goes off to the kitchen and the Chef for dazzling our taste buds in a way that we are still feeling at this moment. Portion sizes were perfect... And regardless of what that one chick wrote.... The decor and vibe were second to none. I go out for dinner fairly often... And I would be remiss for not suggesting El Santo as the best Mexican dining experience in the entire lower mainland. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not giving it a try. I give a huge thank you to all the staff, management and owner for such an amazing experience.
I have been wanting to try this place for a while so we went for my daughter's birthday. We love Mexican food, and this place did not disappoint! The food was awesome as was the service. It's hard to find a good sopa Azteca and they serve one of the best I've tasted. Our table also had fish tacos, chicken tacos, enchilada, guacamole trio and churros. All the food was excellent. Can't wait to go back!

This was my third visit. We did the chef's menu which was $55 pp. So worth it!!! Great value and nice selection. I will say that the quality of the food from dish to dish varies greatly with a couple of favorites like the ceviche with ginger infused puffed rice that i personally have to try next time as my lovely kids didn't leave me any. Steak was excellent and so was the fish. Also really liked the belly tuna dish. El jefe's menu as referenced on the menu includes both permanent menu items as well as specials.
You will not get disappointed by the experience and feel free to rely on your server for pairing options.
Few of the dishes did not leave up to the same expectations but overall a great experience.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our Valentine’s Day over here.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staffs.
We’d ordered twin cocktails, a guacamole trio, pork and beef tongue tacos. My boyfriend said the pork tacos were a bit dried, but overall they tasted good.
Unfortunately they don’t have pictures on the menu so it’s hard for us know what the dishes likes like. We will checking on Instagram before we go next time
Great vibe, service, food and cocktails. The play on flavours was delightful. The whole fish is a must if you have worked up the appetite for you. The servers even offer to debone it for you. Loved it.
Ambiance is great. Staffs are friendly. Food presentation is great. It's just the food is a little bit salty. Corn gnocchi is also way too dry compared to the ones I had in Mexico. Overall, a nice place to have a drink.
I wish I would have found El Santo sooner. Been here a few times already and have always had a great time.
Amazing tacos. Have tried their pescado, barbacao, al pastor and lengua. Honestly, lengua was likely the best with either pescado or barbacao coming close 2nd. Real fresh tasting ingredients and great quality as well. The tacos aslo come with either a green or red sauce which helps make them even better.
Definitely try their churros. Probably thr favorite part of eating here has been the churros. Comes with their creme de leche dipping sauce. Just the perfect pairing.
A little more on the $$$ side but, have throughly enjoyed each visit here.
A great Mexican establishment with a fairly wide Saturday brunch menu and delicious non alcoholic cocktails. We had the Trio de salsas (most amazing corn chips), fish tacos (Pescado), ceviche, Costlitta Benedict which had a cornbread base and Enchiladas Suizas. Everyone enjoyed their meals which hit the spot. To drink we had Squirt soda and Zero proof Mangonada with a to die for chamay and tajin rim on the glass. Yummy. Decent prices.
